Consider taking probiotics (vitamin/supplement). It should help rebalance your stomach and help replace the good bacteria that the antibiotic is killing along with the infection. UTIs can be very painful, unfortunately. Hope the antibiotic and the suggestions here make you feel better soon!

"Does this look infected?"

@ J_Surita3: I'm totally with you, girl! I want to retire as soon as I possibly can and enjoy life. I want to do volunteer work, putter around in my garden, do crafts, travel, lunch with friends, hopefully have grandchildren by then to enjoy... If work is your life, then I see why you'd want to work as long as possible,…

@Cutaway_Collar: about 15-20 years, but we haven't done that great a job about saving for retirement so far.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. We do have a $1000 emergency fund. I've done tracking before, and I guess I know I have to do it again - it's grueling, though. :) We haven't really built up a long-term savings account, though, as we're trying to put as much into retirement as possible right now. @tcunbeliever: I like the…

Cut it into chunks, throw it into a pan with a little cooking spray or olive oil, some sliced peppers, diced onions, and a little garlic. Saute until tender-crisp. I like to add a sprinkle of parmesan during the last minute or so of cooking. Delicious!

Switch to liquid Hershey's syrup???

P.S. I applied for membership to the group, so hope to see everyone there shortly!

One more thought to Bex: When I was struggling with all of my emotions over my parents' illnesses and eventual deaths, a friend of mine at church suggested that I write a letter to God just pouring out everything I felt, so I did. I put all of the anger and sadness and negative emotions I was feeling into a very long…

It's all good, Bex - no worries!

Just had a random thought, who here thinks God is trying to reach out to me? Hence my questions? [/quote] I DO! I DO! I DO! I absolutely think this is true. :)

Wow. I have read this thread from beginning to end, and I have found it mesmerizing. First, I would like to say to blushenvy, you have done a beautiful job trying to explain questions that don't have easy, clear answers. It's obvious that God is working in your life and transforming you, through the good and the bad.…

I just read over your old posts and the one you just posted yesterday. My goodness, you have been through a lot! I'm sorry that you've had so many struggles over the years, but congratulations on your strength and perseverance through it all. You have amazing courage and a great attitude about moving past your setbacks.…

Energy bites - don't have a recipe handy, but easy to find one. Combine oats, peanut butter, honey, mini chocolate chips, seeds, whatever you want. They pack a fairly high calorie count (100 cal or so), but filling and tasty. You can also use PB2 instead of regular peanut butter to save some calories.

A favorite of my mother's: "$h!t or get off the pot". I use it all of the time. :)

Awesome! Will do! Oh, I'll always share my alcohol with you. Just don't finish off the bottle without asking. That might put me over the edge...

What I'd reply: I'm friendly, easy to get along with, clean, and reasonably neat. What I'd like to reply: I'm easy to get along with, unless it's my TOM, which comes about every three weeks since I'm "perimenopausal". Let's hope you don't sync to THAT cycle! I'll keep the common areas clean, but you might not want to open…

I usually put it in the crockpot to tenderize it. Sometimes I'll dump a can of chopped tomatoes and a few spices over it and just let it cook. Gives it a good flavor. Or I'll mix a can of cream of mushroom soup with 1/2 packet of onion soup mix and spread it over the top in the crockpot - tasty!

Hello ladies! I've been back to trolling again, as I haven't been participating in a lot of beautiful behaviors. However, it's my birthday today (51 - woo hoo), and I'm vowing to make a fresh start. I must motivate myself to start getting some exercise! My beautiful behavior will be to take a nice walk with my dog at least…

Yes, the Grand Canyon - definitely! I would also suggest New Orleans for a unique and awesome experience, as well as San Francisco and New York City.

Any kind of physical activity is good. The more you like to do it, the more likely you are to continue doing it! When I used to do Zumba, some girls in class would track their calories burned - you can burn a lot of calories in a dance class!

Plus size here, too. Trying desperately to hold onto a size 16 and not go in the wrong direction. I need to lose 50-60 lbs. Feel free to add me!

I think Hillcrestbaby posted that she was on vacation a few days back...

My husband LOVES summer! But it always cracks me up that the summer solstice makes him sad, because even though it's the beginning of summer, the days are getting shorter from now on. Happy summer everyone!

Hello ladies! I appear to be in "perimenopause" at almost 51. I thought menopause meant fewer periods...not the case for me! I now have a 23-day cycle with three days of horrible cramps each time. I'm also about 50 lbs overweight and know it's not going to get any easier if I don't do something about it now. I'd love to…

Wow! Just came upon this thread from awhile back. I'm amazed at what some of you have experienced and endured in your lives, as well as the resilience of getting through those times. Life is rarely easy, but it is wonderful and to be savored as much as possible!

I've started substituting them for white potatoes in beef stew - gives it a little more flavor, in my opinion.
