  • @FranSilvius62: Sending prayers for you and your husband. Hope the surgery goes well.
  • First of all, kudos to you for having the courage to reach out and tell your story - I'm sure it wasn't an easy thing to put yourself out there and be so candid about your situation. I'm not sure that I have a lot of advice to give, as I find I struggle with some of the same issues as you mentioned. I'm about the same…

  • @rheddmobile: Happy (belated) birthday! And THANK YOU for your story. Congratulations on a job very well done. My life story has some similar parallels, and it's very encouraging to know that you have come that far in that amount of time. Sometimes I feel like I've fallen so far off the wagon, I'll never catch up. Your…

  • @crazyravr: Care to share your "real" bone broth recipe?
  • Good morning, ladies! I've been tracking my food pretty well, not necessarily eating cleanly, but more aware of my food intake. I ended up going to dinner with my sibs and aunt Monday night, so didn't get to walk, but for a good reason. Last night I tackled some paperwork that has been hanging over my head and stressing me…

  • Hello everyone! I, too, have been lurking in the background, feeling like I haven't been trying hard enough to actually participate. My husband suggest that he and I start tracking our % weight loss, so I thought this might be a good time to jump back in. I've been pretty good with tracking my food during the week, but not…
  • Hi! I'm a newbie to the 10-day Challenge, a not-so newbie to the weight loss struggle. Gonna give this a try. As someone said - 10 days seems manageable! thanks! Day Weight Comments 06/12 202.5 lbs 06/13 06/14 06/15 06/16 06/17 06/18 06/19 06/20 06/21
  • I've heard about the growing the tree thing, but using the person's ashes from cremation to nourish the tree rather than the decomposing body.
  • I belong to NextDoor.com. It's kind of like Facebook for your neighborhood. People in your neighborhood can post if their pet is missing, having a garage sale, or just about anything. A few months ago a man posted on it. He was new to the neighborhood, his girlfriend was pregnant with twins and on complete bed rest. He was…
  • @nevadavis1 That wouldn't happen to be Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, would it? I live in Cincinnati, and it's pretty well known. They filmed there for the movie "Rain Man". Just wondering. :)
  • Why in the world would it be wrong to find joy in helping others? I love the feeling I get when I help someone out. I can understand that you shouldn't brag about and tell people how awesome you are because you did it, but feeling good for helping someone? That's what life is all about, or at least should be! If you read…
  • I'm addicted to lip balm, preferably of the plain Chapstick variety, but I'll lower my standards if I'm desperate. If I don't have one on my person or nearby at all times, it makes me very anxious and my lips immediately feel dry and chapped.
  • If I'm pinched for time, I often just use bottled Italian dressing. Makes the chicken moist and flavorful.
  • I would see your doctor to rule out anything serious, just to be on the safe side.
  • @KimF0715: I'm sorry that Mother's Day is going to be hard for you. I know the first year or two of holidays after my Mom passed were really hard. Maybe you can get together with your cousins and lean into each other, remembering the good times and honoring your moms and aunts. And congrats about the teenager (I…
  • And also with you... ;)
  • Two scrambled eggs on lightly buttered whole wheat toast. Peanut butter on toast. Chicken breasts in crockpot with cream of chicken soup dumped over it. Cook on low 6-10 hours and serve over brown rice if desired.
  • People who stop the microwave early but don't bother to zero out the time. It only takes one extra push of the same button. Grrrr...gets me every time!
  • Hi everyone! I haven't had much to post lately, but I love reading everyone's posts. Everyone is so supportive of each other, and I love everyone's sense of humor - it's wonderful! I found a local church to hold the memorial service for my neighbors who lost their preemie daughter. It's being held on Saturday. Hoping the…
  • Hello everyone! I had a rough week. My neighbor was pregnant with twins and in the hospital on bed rest. She went into labor and delivered them at 27 weeks, a boy and a girl. Sadly, the baby girl passed away the next day. The baby boy is still hanging in there. The parents are just reeling and overwhelmed, so I have been…
  • @jessiquoia - Good luck! You can do it!
  • Doesn't anyone meet their mate the old-fashioned way anymore like I did - in a bar??? lol
  • Hello everyone! Had a nice Easter gathering with my hubby's family yesterday. In hindsight, I should have posted about my Easter meal coming up for accountability purposes like I did for the potluck. Didn't do quite as well with the Easter meal - hard to resist an old-fashioned, home-cooked meal! I didn't binge, just had…
  • Good morning! I'm really glad I posted about my potluck lunch before I went yesterday. The thought of having to come back and report how I did helped me to make much better choices than I would usually make. I wasn't perfect by any means, but I did a lot better than I normally would. I tried to keep the WW suggestions that…
  • So I sort of "joined" this group a few weeks ago, but as I haven't been trying very hard to take care of myself, so I haven't been posting, just reading everyone's posts, which are wonderful and inspiring - what an awesome group of people you are! :) I'm going to get a fresh start...again, lol. My beautiful behavior…
