I have the Polar M400 which is a 24/7 activity monitor and also has a chest strap for the HRM aspect for when you work out. I love all the tools it gives me to check on my progress, recovery time, activity goals and such. While the watches with the HRM built in are easier, they are not nearly as accurate as a chest strap.

I hate to say it but really the only way to get rid of that kind of excess skin is surgery. Serious strength training and muscle building will help other areas of your body to a certain extent but they won't do much for excess skin on your stomach and it won't all go away. I strive for the basic 12-14 hours between supper and breakfast. I've done the 5:2 and some other configurations but I end up overeating on the "on" days. I seem to do ok with the 12-14 hours. Sometimes I'll go longer. I don't do it for weight loss. I do it for longevity.

Try eliminating soy and dairy (including whey protein) and see if it improves. If it does, add back dairy and see if it flares up again. If so, cut it and then try adding back dairy.
