No need to give up bacon and other foods you like. I have been type 2 for years. I still eat anything I want as long as it’s with in my calorie count. My last A1C was 6. doesnt matter what food you eat. if you are not putting it on a scale you really do not know how many calories you are actually eating.. we can gain weight just eating brocolli if it is to many calories
