Why would vegetarian foods be measured differently than non vegetarian foods?
The calorie totals for any food are measured to correlate to their weight in grams. The corresponding volume measurements (cups, teaspoons) are estimated for the convenience of folks who don't typically weigh out their food.
Solid foods will fit differently into a volume measure depending on the size and shape of the pieces and how level or full you measure each time. Adding that to the fact the volume serving size is an estimate of the actual weighed serving size, and you risk lots of innacurate data. Weighing out oats, rice, potato, nuts, avocado, etc made a huge difference in my progress.
What is your height and weight, and for how long have you been following your current plan?

This is your problem right here. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables--everything weighed to the gram.9 -

doesnt matter what food you eat. if you are not putting it on a scale you really do not know how many calories you are actually eating.. we can gain weight just eating brocolli if it is to many calories7 -
Hi kimny72 years ago i lost a lot of weight due to a eating disorder I still struggle with it.I kept the weight off for 15 years but it seems like when very stressful things happen like my fiance passing away the weight just came on. The doctors said it is from stress I can go without food and still not lose weight. Like most people I deal with chronic stress every day so that doesn't help. Anyways back to the food issue I go by the serving size. Everything I buy measures in cups or tablespoons so I've always went by that Like a cup of strawberries for example. Being frustrated with this I have been eating 1000 calories or less a day . It's very easy for me to just not eat which falls back to the eating disorder so I have to be careful on that to. Thank you for your help1

I think it’s very hard to give you appropriate advice with your history.
We can all tell you to weigh food as this is commonly where people who are trying to lose weight can go wrong
In your case I would ask do you really need to be losing weight? Is your bmi in the normal range? And even if it isn’t, it sounds like the ED may not be in check. If you received treatment it may be time to start reaching out to the treatment team depending if that is possible in the current situation. Sorting out the ED is the priority.

I have talked to my doctors and they have done blood test and things come back ok.they tell me it was from stress and have told me my being said a little to high now I need to lose around 30 lbs. I was just seeing if someone else has this issue with gaining weight just from stress and how do you lose it. I just want to get back to my healthy weight nothing more then that .1 -

There are many people who post on here with your problem. Unless you resolve the underlying problem with counseling, it can be difficult to lose weight. Fight one fight at a time.3 -

Hey, I also don't eat meat. Vegetarians and vegans absolutely eat food that needs to be measured on a scale for better accuracy -- we eat foods like beans, grains, nuts, pasta, starchy vegetables, higher calorie fruits like coconut and avocado, and even lower calorie fruit and vegetables can add up pretty quickly. You may not eat all these foods, but I'm guessing you eat at least some of them. If you're eating foods like cheese, that can also benefit from accurate measuring. All of these foods are measured more accurately on a scale than with cups. I found myself in a rut of losing and regaining the same five pounds over and over until I began using a scale.3 -
You gotta use a food scale, hon. I know it's a bother, but you will see results if you do it.3
