  • As a cancer survivor myself, I'm very discouraged when I see people who believe in "cures". I know someone who has had brain cancer twice, and she is now so against big pharma that if she gets it again, she is only going to smoke pot or use CBD oil this time. She is convinced that's all she needs to be cured.
  • Marijuana cures all forms of cancer. I see it all over the internet. Makes me sad people believe it.
  • Fasting won't do anything for you in terms of weight loss unless you are in a calorie deficit. Nothing. So if you are fasting, and in a calorie deficit, yes you can have carbs. Calories are king, carbs don't matter.
  • There is no such place as "central Jersey". There is only North or South. You must pick a side.
  • As cmriverside said, it's only an eating schedule. There is nothing about it that makes weight loss faster or easier than anything else. As long as you stay in your calorie goal, with or without IF, you'll lose weight. I eat this way because I'm less hungry if I put off eating until the afternoon. That's the only benefit…
  • If your lungs look like the set on the left, I don't care how fast or how far you can run, you are not fit.
  • Do you consider black lungs healthy?
  • Maybe you are waiting too long to eat. You can stretch your eating window as long as you are still maintaining your calories. So just don't wait so long and see how that works for awhile. IF should work with your lifestyle, not make it so that you are about to pass out.
  • From experience, thorazine works a little harder on nausea and head pain than compazine. Works so well on nausea it was my best friend when I went through chemo.
  • First, you should never self diagnose. Second, you weren't losing weight because you weren't in a calorie deficit. One thing I noticed about eating later in the day is that it can really suppress the appetite of some people, especially if you go to that from eating 5-6 times a day which helps you stay in a calorie deficit.…
  • But what are you doing IF for? Is it just to help you with your calorie deficit? That's why I do IF, and I still have coffee with a splash of milk. I'm not one of these people who believe if I consume over 10 calories in the morning I'm "breaking my fast" therefore all these magical properties of IF will go away. I have my…
  • If you believe that, then you don't know much about the disease.
  • What migraine drug requires a liver transplant every few years?
  • I'm someone who uses IF for appetite control. Eating breakfast just makes me too hungry throughout the rest of the day. So IF is perfect for me to stay within my calorie budget. Good luck!
  • I don't think anyone wanted to stop you from talking about YOUR IF experience, but I know I'm confused how giving a feeding window of x hours and masticating for y minutes gives useful information about IF in general.
  • It's because you are actually eating at maintenance level for your weight. I lost 50 lbs, then in July of this year I stopped losing. I knew I was eating more...so for the last several months I have been eating at maintenance level. Now I'm back on the bandwagon and I've been cutting my portions down. I'm already starting…
  • Sorry if your OP got off topic. Depo works by eventually completely stopping ovulation altogether. So that doesn't happen with the first shot. I know people for whom all bleeding stopped between the 2nd and 4th shot. I also know many of the newer IUDs are pretty small and don't have the side effects of the Depo Shot, but…
  • Essure is what was implanted into your fallopain tubes to scar them. That has been taken off the market. The one that was implanted in your arm was inplanon and nexplanon.
  • I've been on depo for well over 15 years. My periods stopped, but my libido never did which was good. Anyway, my regular, once a month periods went away after the first few months, but then I had this very low level bleeding that lasted every day for a year. It was nothing major. It was like the very last day of your…
  • What form of magnesium do you take and what dose for your migraines, if you don't mind me asking?
  • IF did help me in a specific way to control my hunger. I finally realized that eating breakfast in the morning was making me ravenously hungry all day long. Once I stopped eating in the morning and started my eating in the afternoon, my hunger quickly came under control and it became much easier for me to stay within my…
  • Yeah, but I just never heard anyone who had cluster headaches every say they functioned daily with them, let alone functioned at all with them. And that is a very, very specific type of headache. So that just caught my attention when you said that.
  • I'm wondering how you were able to function with a cluster headache, considering on this "range" on pain, the clusters are worse than migraines. Because I was diagnosed with both. I haven't had one in years, thank god. But those are also known as suicide headaches because they are so painful, people have committed suicide…
  • Just for anyone who is going to talk to their doctor about the new migraine drugs, there are 3 CGRP drugs that were approved this year. Aimovig, Ajovy, and Emgality. All three can be monthly injections, but you can get Ajovy as a quartly injection. Also, Aimovig and Emgality are subq injectors but Ajovy is just a prefilled…
  • I have chronic daily migraines. I've had them since I was 10. When I was in my 20s, the hormonal part of my migraines was horrible. Two weeks out of every month I was suffering with hormonal migraines. I started taking the Depo Provera shot to stop those, and that was a miracle. My headaches were actually manageable after…
  • IF is just a schedule of eating. People tend to chose it because it helps them stay within a calorie goal, which is all that matters. So if on Tuesdays, you can't make your IF window, that's ok. Use whatever schedule you need. Just hit your calorie goal if that is your main objective. The timing matters not.
  • Can I just ask, about how many medications have you tried? There are literally dozens and dozens of medications that are used as preventatives. I know from past experience that some neuros stick to a specific few and don't branch out from there. If you doctor hasn't tried youon more than 6 medications, or you've been told…
  • I'm not sure why you don't want to take medication for it. Migraine is a neurological condition. It's not going to simply get better by not doing anything about it. Strenuous exercise during a migraine is definitely not recommended. Some people who get migraines infrequently may chose not to treat them with medication, but…
  • There is still caffeine in chocolate. I'm a migraineur, and I know many who will only eat chocolate when they get a migraine because of the caffeine in it will help take the headache away. I'm not saying you have migraines, I'm just saying that stopping all the chocolate could be triggering a part of your headaches. Part…
