I am feeling stout. I shouldn't be, because I have logged everything and offset ci with co, so I should be at status quo. I am a bit scared to get on the scales to check. I think I'll wait till the day before term starts; discipline is much easier in term time.

...that food gets ignored" is a passive construction. It is you who are actively doing the ignoring. The grammar indicates the problem; take responsibility for your own actions and choices.

Hi. I am sorry about your illness. When my husband had somewhat similar nutrition issues following surgery, the doctor prescribed some really high calorie nutrition drinks. We are in the UK, so this was on the NHS. I don't know where you are.

Excellent. Well done.

Just made Nanaimo bars, and whilst, yes, I DID scrape out the bowl and pan, I DIDN'T break off and eat extra chocolate whilst making the topping.

Many congratulations.

Thank you, all.

Well done. Just keep going, consistently, and you will get there. The challenge for me, now, is learning how to stop.

Yes, whatever I want as long as I stay within my calories. Exercise earns me more calories. I have found that what I want to eat has changed as my awareness of the calorie cost has grown. Some things are worth saving up for, though.

Enjoying the hunger pangs a little bit because you know it means you are loosing [/quote] Yes. Hunger is my friend - up to a point.

Thanks, will try that. I also, serendipitously, have a massage booked for later.

School end of term do last night, and the PE department were talking about how good I looked and asking how I had done it. These are all fit people, so that felt good. It also felt good to say, in the face of the list of diet alternatives that were speculated, that I just ate less and moved more.

End of term, and the staff room is full of food. I am saying "no" to almost all of it, and logging the bits which warrant the calories and to which I say "yes". The home made, brandy fed Christmas cake I knew in advance would be a "yes" (she makes it every year and it's the only Christmas cake I eat) so I planned for it.

Massage and the determination to lose even more. When nothing fits any more, clothes:)

Thanks, all. Makes sense.

Female, 52, BMI 22 (just!) At times of year with lots of daylight I walk. I am a teacher, so in school holidays I walk incessantly. In term time, and at this time of year, I tend to get to the gym 3 times a week, doing mainly cardio but disciplining myself to do some weight/resistance/core stuff too; I want to look like…

I am now past my realistic goal (at which I look great and feel healthy) and on my way to my idealised goal (which is a number and nothing more). I tell myself I am building a buffer for Christmas indulgence but I already have the next excuse planned. I can't think of any excuses past that one but I am very inventive. It…

OK. That all makes sense. Thanks.

Women who drink 2 or more diet sodas are 50% more likely to have heart problems ... 2 or more over what time frame? 50% more likely than what?

I did 3 sets of 10. I don't usually spend much time in the weights area. Thanks for the tips.

I am 52. Since the beginning of March I have lost 55 lb through tracking what I eat and making sure I stay in deficit. I walk a lot, do lots of cardio at the gym and see a PT weekl for strength/resistance/ core work. Now I am trying to maintain, I am changing my strength / cardio balance. Be honest, trust the process and…

Managed RPM without a problem, though I must admit to having gone easy on myself. Thanks to you all for your concern.
