Back for good?
Hi. I thought I could do it alone. I was wrong. Only a size to drop this time, though.

Take 2
Having lost all the weight and kept it off for 2 years, I fell off the wagon a month ago for a variety of reasons, none of them good enough to warrant the fall. Today I start again. I have done it before, I can do it again.

etiquette question
What are the expectations re. stripped down posing on the gym floor? This is something I saw last week and wasn't quite comfortable with.

Resistance training without a gym
For financial reasons I will soon have to cancel my gym membership and PT sessions. I have come a long way and don't want to go backwards. I am thinking of buying a Swiss ball and some weights whilst I am still earning at my current rate. Any other suggestions?

A new gym is opening near me offering classes in the category "Muscle toning and endurance". Seems odd nomenclature.

Baffled
Hello All. I am 5'7" and lost 29 kg toget to my goal in about a year. Then I lost a bit more learning to maintain but was happy where I landed. Now, with no change to the process, I seem to be gaining again; in the last week and a half I have gained 2kg. I am eating more, but am also exercising more, so I stay within…

So who posted about almond butter?
Now I know how good it is, I can't unknow it.

How quickly to lose.
I have seen posted a ratio of how much loss per week to target against how much excess weight is being carried. Could someone re-post it for me, as a colleague is interested. Thanks.

Trying to learn to eat again
I am meant to be maintaining but I am having trouble reaching my calories now I have shed my bad habits - mainly excess chocolate. Any ideas? I don't want to lose any more.

Simply Walking/My Tracks
Now that My Tracks has been deprecated, and will probably pop out of existence soon, I have been looking for an alternative tracking system for my walks. I am just back from a walk using Simply Walking. I walked an identical route to one I had recorded on My Tracks, at my standard pace. Simply Walking gives me comparable…

It doesn't add up
I know I have overindulged this bank holiday weeekend - alcohol and chocolate to an excess of about 3500 calories. So why are my scales claiming 2k? This happened at Christmas too.

Happy MFP birthday to me!
Gained: 365 days; lots of health and fitness Lost: 28k; 3 dress sizes ( 16/18> 10/12); 10 BMI points 365 days ago I did NOT expect to have size 10 skirts (UK) fit loosely. :) Off for a walk to keep things going.

weight raw or cooked?
I hadn't realised how much water weight a potato would lose in baking. I guess I log weight as eaten, not before baking?

This is interesting. They are trialling and comparing all sorts of faddy diets. I am hoping they will come to sensible conclusions.

Fòod Unwrapped Diet Special
They are running an experiment to see if eating chocolate can help you lose weight; not the way I eat it!

Anniversary
This time last year I joined the gym. It wasn't till March that I really got serious but I am down from an obese size 16+ (UK) 210 lb to a healthy 10/12 149 lb with a bmi of 22. What a difference a year makes.

My back is complaining
I walked 5 brisk miles on Saturday and another 5 on Sunday, having not walked for a week because of dark evenings, though I have been using the eliptical at the gym. Then I stood for 2 back to back gigs with my choir yesterday. My back has gone into shock. I didn't see that coming! Any ideas to loosen it up?

Abductors and adductors
If these machines are as useless as everyone seems to think, why do gyms give them floor space? *disclaimer: I don't use them.*

leg presses - what is a good weight to body weight ratio?
I used the leg press at the gym today for the first time and pressed 20k over my body weight. I have no idea whether that is good or not.

Stop? Pause? Keep going?
I have hit healthy bmi :) but not my original goal. I am happy with how I look, though, except for the loose skin, which is now kicking in. I have lost 4 stone in 7 months but it wasn't lifelong weight. Do I : a) stop now b) give it a rest to allow my skin to catch up c) keep going regardless? I am thinking pause. What do…

Weird legs
I am getting there with my weight loss and looking, generally, better than I have in decades. My legs are weird, though. My thighs go in and out in the strangest manner! Time to focus on leg exercises (what?) or will losing more weight sort it?

Slightly baffled
I have been losing at a steady pace for 6 months and am now close to a normal BMI - having been 210 lbs @ 5'7" and well into obese I am now 162 pounds and about 2 pounds away from that magic zone. All well and very good. Last Friday I had an accident in the gym which involved me falling rather ignominiously off one of…

Exercise is my saviour
Despite the fact that I ate not only over goal but also over maintenance today, the fact that I walked for 90 minutes today meant I still netted a deficit
