I quit soda over a period of a year.. First, I quit buying and bringing it home, then I only drank a glass or two at the restaurants on Friday evening. I've switched to water and those mix additives.

It's working for you so keep doing what is working... If that fails at some point, join the crowd... The scale didn't move much for me until I started keeping score... So I doubt your method will ever work here, but hey, we are all different. Keep moving forward!!

You've cut off 600 calories a day from your total or are you eating a total of 600 calories a day? (The latter isn't healthy) Veggies aren't bad, but please make sure you are also getting some protein in your diet.

My first month at the gym, a "regular" commented that she thought I'd have a heart attack on the treadmill. 8 months later, I'm the "regular" and she hasn't been seen in over 2 months. :) Don't sweat being the largest person in the gym. THIS ^^^^ Don't sweat it! Use your current scale consistently and if it's heading the correct southerly direction, you are fine.

I've been slowly tossing them or sending them to Goodwill.. I fear that putting them in boxes gives me a possible return to my bad level of fitness, so I'm burning the bridges.

I've go no issues with eating something different every once in a while (if it fits my calories) -- but.. If you are going to treat yourself, TREAT YOURSELF to SOMETHING GOOD!! Not crappy McDonalds!
