Off the top of my head, Scott Jurek, one of the best ultramarathon runners in the world. Being vegan doesn't mean you can't have a totally balanced diet with all the required macros. It might take a bit more effort to get them all but it is very doable.

or of course if you are so worried about the plight of the animals, the amount of habitats which are destroyed so that farms can have the plots of land they require to grow the various crops. It really is simple, for the human race to eat, animals will be killed. Either directly for the food or for the space to grow and…

Just out of interest for those Vegans on here posting about how bad it is to kill animals for meat? Is it only the big animals you care about? Lots of farms will kill rabbits, deer, moles, mice etc to protect their food crops. Not all "traps" will be nice and quick deaths for the animals. So unless you are someone who only…

I normally run with an Inov-8 race vest as well. Pretty much for the same reason. I try to make my training runs as close to race conditions as I can, except pace. Fuel, water and kit all go in it nicely.

Completed a marathon on Sunday. Was quite under trained for this, came in under 5 hours and not last. Felt really good and back in the gym today.

I currently have the toenails on my both my big toes regrowning back. Lost them on a 100km run last September. Also had one fall off after a 50km run before that. For me it's normally down to distance, don't have any issues up to marathon distance but over that my toenails seem to get more of a battering.

Because if PF is your only option for a gym you are going to be extremely limited in weights you can use. Therefore a totally different routine might be better suited for the equipment available.

Doing goblet squats as part of a tabata routine, but I didn't have a stop watch. So I figured about 15 squats would be the correct time. Finished the routine which amounted to around 100+ squats in the end. Couldn't walk the next day. When I was finally able to redo the routine I found out I was getting about 5 squats in…

hahaha :) Excellent. Also, yes running is for everyone. We evolved to be able to run, it's something that every single human being is designed to do. Whether you enjoy it or not is a different question. But if you start and get fitter, the aches and pains will reduce (unless you have medical conditions) and you will get…

Running the Heartbreaker Marathon in the New Forest (uk) on Sunday, not bothered about finishing time or position. Using it as a training run for a 70 miler in July.

After running 100km, the next morning my legs were like lead. Even the smallest steps were almost surmountable

Sorry, do you mean, "If you stopped using information that you learned"? As in have a total memory wipe and suddenly forget how many calories I need to maintain, how many to lose on and how many to gain on, along with the information about how many calories are in my favorite snacks or meals? I no longer need to log or…

For me I don't really view it as exercise. Before I started enjoying the actual running/lifting it was mostly just a chance for me to either get out of the office and have a break from the normal work stress or it was a chance for me to get a bit of me time at home. I have a small daughter and she is pretty much my shadow…

I always have to get up early enough to have a cup of coffee and use the bathroom before going for a run. Without going in to details, coffee helps speed things up. I hate aiming for a 10k/15k and realising that after 5k I need to find a bathroom. Apart from that I avoid eating anything early morning, it just sits heavy in…

clever. I believe.

Unless you are running trails you aren't real runners. So doesn't matter if you stop or bounce at your red lights. None of you are real runners. /argument settled

This is what I am currently doing. I do SL5x5 3 times as week and run 3 times a week and have a rest day on either Saturday/Sunday.

28/2 - Marathon 30/4 - 30 miler 1/5 - 30 miler 3/7 - 70 miler, (20hour cut off) I probably need to find a half or something in March and June just as timed training runs for the 70 miler in July

If you are a beginner then don't start adding more in. Just keep following the c25k plan. Take the rest days when it says. You body is going to be getting use to the C25K plan and when you are out running solid for 30 minutes, every other day you are going to know about it. Please ignore anyone who currently does any sort…

Sexual attraction really isn't just down to how they look and probably stopped being a big thing the moment anyone stopped having one night stands where that was all you cared about. How big or small someone is doesn't make them any less or more attractive. Sadly that view is something which is pushed on women from womens…

Just to clarify this, the meds themselves don't actually make you gain weight. As in, that tablet isn't 500+ calories so 1 a day isn't going to make your put on 1lb a week. They may affect how hungry you feel or prehaps alter your metabolism but the tablets in themselves do not make you put on weight. So long as you are…

That you can push your body mentally and physically much further than you thought possible.

And as soon as your average American can do the same amount as physical exercsise that a NFL player can then a comparison can be made. It is well known that BMI doesn't really work when looking at professional sports people, but that's because it is designed to be a starting point for Mr/Mrs Average. Mr/Mrs Average aren't…

well done. do .8 tomorrow :)

@MonkeyMel21 I normally keep a constant pace when using a treadmill because I use it as a tempo run. I can set the speed to keep a pretty constant HR at 85%-90% MHR. I hate running on the roads which is all there is around where I work, so I prefer the treadmill for running during the week and I do my long runs at the…

That it takes a long time for toenails to regrow!
