  • holy cow! Can't believe it's only 30 lbs that is a big difference on you!! Great job!! Out of curiosity, how tall are you?
  • I work at a desk all day too, I bring lots of low calorie snacks with me everyday. Once an hour I walk down the long hallway and back to my desk, then I get up a bit later and refill my water bottle. I find excuses to move. I park in the furthest parking space. I also walk 20 minutes on my lunch. Despite working in an…

  • someone suggested I download Happy Scale app on my phone, it's a good way to keep track of your fluctuations
  • I am 5'2 166lbs goal is also 130. We should be MFP buddies!
  • I still eat fast food and fit them into my calorie goals. I like McDonalds, I can always get a kids meal or eat half of my combo meal. Or maybe just one day I'll eat at my maintenance goal just for a break. Motivation is not what gets us to our goals, dedication is...motivation comes and goes as you've already figured out

  • I was set at sedentary but also get about 15-20k steps a day (includes my exercise) I was eating a portion of my exercise calories back. Initially MFP was giving me 1250 calories a day, plus about 1000 exercise calories from my fitbit excericse calories. I changed my profile to lightly active, now i'm allowed 1460 calories…
  • I eat about half of mine. I am set to lose 1lb a week but am closer to .5 at this point so I know my burn isn't really accurate. I am weighing my food so I know its not that.
  • I'd say I'm at more of a routine than a plan now since I've been doing it for 6 weeks now. I walk everyday on my lunch for 25-30 minutes, I go to the gym on Tuesday and Thursday for cardio, I lift weights at home monday wednesday and Friday. On the weekends I dont have any purposeful exercise but I still make sure I get my…
  • I'm obsessive so I do it everyday
in Weigh In Comment by Jadub729 May 2018
  • Figure about 1lb a week in the beginning, it will slow down the closer you get to your goal.
  • Do you weigh your food and log everything?? how much have you lost since you started? I just checked your diary, you have quite a few days where you didn't log anything. I'd guess you are eating more than you realize.
  • I have a fitbit HR and I LOVE it. I've had a fitbit for years now and it has definitely given me motivation to move more. I average 15k steps per day now.
  • Why would you want to "flush food out faster"?? I'm not sure water does that any how...
  • I would choose lightly active.
  • your weight fluctuates period or not, probably even more so on your period. You gain/lose weight all day due to several reasons, one of which the actual weight of the food you're still digesting. It is super frustrating but our bodies are not exact. You just started literally 5 days ago, give it a few weeks. Here are my…
  • Lori I have found for myself the more I move the more energy I have. I dont know the science behind it but when I'm being lazy I'm even more tired. Walking is a great exercise and its spring time so a perfect time to get started!
  • I have never lost what MFP is set to, personally I'd set it for 1lb a week and expect .5.
  • I am 5'2 and eat about 1500-1700 calories per day
  • I have my activity level on MFP set to sedentary. I average about 15k steps a day and gain about 800-900 calories a day from that (also includes exercise)
  • This is very normal after having a baby, and also some birth controls can cause it. I've lost quite a bit while on the depo and now Mirena. =( I do take 1000mg of biotin everyday and that has slowed the shedding quite a bit and plus side my nails are longer and stronger than they have ever been. If I take more than 1000mg…
  • I eat half of mine on the assumption that most people under estimate their intake (mistakes with weighing/measuring) and over estimate their burn (Not sure how accurate fitbit is) so 50% works pretty well for me but I dont panic if I eat them all some days either.
  • Everything I need is in the free version.
  • I dont usually do any purposeful exercise on the weekends, I still make sure I get my 10k steps though.
  • Oh and I can tell you the people in my gym are all different sizes and ages. No one pays attention we're all just focused on what we're there to do.
  • While I hate having to go some where after work I find that I get my better workouts at the gym. I guess my mindset is that I drove here I may as well put the time in. I do lift weights at home though so my time at the gym is strictly cardio. I have a decent weight set at home so I alternate cardio/strength training…
  • 2000 calories sounds more reasonable at least.
  • Are you fairly active? I think 1500 calories is pretty low for a guy. i eat 1500-1700 a day and I'm a 5'2 female
  • I weigh myself every morning and log it.
  • Want to be back in the 150s ASAP
