That wasn't meant to be flattering. It's a crappy comment from a jealous person. "REAL women have CURVES blah blah blah"... I tell people I am changing my diet and use that as a reason that I can't go for pizza or eat five cupcakes or whatever, and even though I am still overweight, people go, "YOU'RE dieting? Come on."…

So much of building a healthy lifestyle is the mentality. We do whatever we can to get by, haha.
-
Before, I only did 1 meal instead of a whole day - made it easier not having to "save up" calories!
-
I mean, I get what you're saying, but this is all really splitting hairs - the idea of cheat/treat days is pretty common throughout the world of dieting. Everyone does it differently. Your outlook is best, but not everyone is there yet.

I was doing 1 treat meal every Sunday after weigh-in when I started, but I've found that lately it's just kind of been worked in throughout the week during social events. Overall it evens out. Treat meals can give you something to look forward to! I get it.

That is sad. It's not that it bothers me when I see it, but I feel like someone should call them out, only because we need to have more realistic standards and expectations for weight loss. it would encourage more people to stick with it. That someone won't be me though because I hate confrontation and I don't really care…

Perfectly stated!
-
Mine did last week and half the week before. And I don't have Shark Week as an excuse! Haha
-
I do struggle with cravings though lol. I think there's not much to be done on that other than work on my willpower.
-
I weigh and log but I am a little more forgiving to myself. I also take the weight readings with a grain of salt because I know variance can be crazy.
-
This is the best I can do. I don't think the formulas and stuff carry over to Google Sheets.
-
No, it's not those...I'll try to get it uploaded somewhere so you guys can see it.
-
So true. I am working on coming to terms with workouts being a part of my life forever. Oddly, it's difficult to buy into for me! lol
-
it's literally an Excel spreadsheet you'd use on your computer haha. I update it on my work PC. Not sure how I could send as an attachment - you can PM me your email if you feel comfortable doing so.
-
I use a calculator spreadsheet daily with the TDEE method. I feel like it's super customized and that's why I like it. As it turns out, with my lifestyle, I wasn't too far off the way I was doing it anyway. :) If you want the worksheet I can try to send it to you.
-
Haha yeah I am a mess. I have a coworker with experience in the whole TDEE thing and he's sitting with me now to help me work it out. It sucks though, I was having great success with my screwed up method lol!
-
yeah, no, I wasn't. I am reworking all of this now. I really had no idea. So my TDEE is about 1850 with my workouts. So...to lose weight, what should I be eating? I know these are silly questions but I am so lost now! Until now, I was eating 1200/day and working out, not eating back my calories. With that in mind, the TDEE…

LOL

I'm a newlywed compared to some (3 years in Nov), but communication and warmth is a big part of it too! Not just that, but any or all of these things may falter from time to time over the course of a lifetime (that's a lot of years!), but remaining committed will see you through. Just my newbie point of view though.
-
Oh, you're right. I guess I'm doing a weird mishmash of the two - tracking with MFP but using the TDEE method of not eating them back. Oh well! You learn something new every day.
-
Huh, I have always been told you shouldn't eat back your exercise calories at all. Shows what I know, lol.
-
Are you me? :D
-
:o Genius!

I love Bolthouse Farms yogurt dressings! The one I have handy to look at is the cilantro avocado - it's 40 cals for 2 Tbsp! But mostly I just use vinaigrettes or if it's a taco salad I use salsa. Here's the link I was able to find btw:…

Exactly this. I feel like if you're not making a lifelong change, you are likely to gain your weight back. Fasting for short periods like that does give me some mental clarity, but usually I crash shortly after lol! Anyway, different strokes, but I agree with kommodeveran.
-
No, she's saying that's how she started, but then she really buckled down and tracked 1200/day.
-
I'm really active logging and exercising, if you want to add me! I tried to add you but I don't know how to do it on desktop :/

I think probably around 18-20 lbs lost was the first time someone said I was a "skinny mini" - I haven't heard that in YEEAAARS so I was secretly overjoyed.

^ To be fair, the topic at hand is some vegan recipes, not our thoughts on veganism. But it's a public forum, so I guess we could derail if we must.

I could use some motivation. I have slightly more than 15 left to lose...let's do it!
