NEVER give up
-
I was where you are!! I had to make a choice to just keep trying no matter how many times I fail. My motto is "giving up is not an option". I am too important and valuable to my family for me to be so half-hazard about my health!!! You know what, I slipped up a lot!! But never gave up. I began to see patterns to what would…

I would marinate and /or cook something with the beer and after its done, it is unusable so you just dump it out..... Better then having to torchure yourself by watching someone else drink it. Shrimp is good cooked in beer: bring to boil, add several shakes of old bay seasoning, drop in shrimp and cook until pink,…

Dry since Fall of 1993. 22 years...,holy cow!! I did it because my hubby had a drinking problem and I wanted to support him when he chose abstinence. He is still dry and we are still married, praise God!!!

If you want the "taste" of banana bread, try banana pancakes. One banana and two eggs added to blender and mixed until smooth, add desired spices. Spray pan and Cook on low and slow in skillet. Make them small and don't flip until golden brown on bottom. OR spray mini muffin pan and bake at 350 until golden on top.

Bake at 350 degrees

I make baked rice all the time and this recipe would work well! Only change I would make is add 2.5 cups water instead of 2 cups. Spray 13 x9 baking dish with Pam, add rice first, followed by veggies and add liquid last (you will need to heat the water and broth in microwave until very hot). Cover tightly with tinfoil and…

This might sound odd, but can work if you give it an honest try. Good for when you can't quiet your mind. As you lay in bed, everything is quiet (except maybe calming music), repeat the word "sleep" to yourself over and over until you eventually fall asleep. Also be mindful of your breathing. It is harder then it sounds…

Try your very best to put hurtful remarks into perspective. ANYONE who has the need to insult someone based on looks alone has a serious problem. How pathetic do you have to be to get your "thrills" by insulting someone. Seriously, think about it...... Forgive them and forget them. Don't let their insecurity bring you…

I downloaded it.... Interesting. I will have to use it for awhile before I can say that it is helpful. Definitely can keep me busy in a positive way instead of stuffing my face

I will be praying for you "kit". That is an outstanding achievement to be clean for over two years.

I sent you a friend request.

I am quite a bit overweight (seriously obese) and I certainly get the shame game. People can be vicious and cruel: "friends", family, strangers, you name it. My own mind will beat me down if I let it! And when (not if, but when) the harassment comes it takes my whole being not to spiral into a depression. So you are…

Sounds like you are doing well!!!!! I think planned treats are wise as long as they don't send you into a spiral of bad choices. But you handled your situation very well.

Knowing the problem is half the battle!! I applaud your desire to want to eat at a balanced level. Too low of caloric intake is very dangerous. Along with pre-logging meals (awesome idea!), it may help to use verbal (say it out loud, not just in your head) positive reinforcement. Like "I want to eat enough because it makes…

I am learning that for me most of the weight loss battle is struggling with emotions and poor thought processes. I know what I should and should not eat and when I should stop. But still slip up and backslide. I am an addict through and through. BUT this time I am not beating myself up, I am never giving up and I am taking…

Praise the Lord on your sustained repentance regarding food addiction. I am mentally where you were in the beginning. Thank you for your inspirational post and reminding me I can do it!

These are so totally awesome!!! I have a long way to go; these stories give me hope & are so inspirational and funny!! Thank you!!!!

A shower - I never thought of that!! Thanks!!!

We have all been there , and it is hard!! I have cried, walked, called a friend and get on MFP to read that others are going through the same pain, heartache, struggle, etc. I would say the most important thing is to forgive yourself and move on. Slip ups will happen. But Never let yourself give up- never. Always press on.…

I used to eat to feel numb, so I could completely deny my emotions. Those were the late night binges. Then there was the eat because I'm happy, or splurge because I was eating out (not just for special occasions, anytime). I have a very hard time being around large quantities of food now. Makes me edgy and nervous because…

I do that too! What are you doing while you were "blind eating"? My biggest thing was to veg in front of the TV and consume anything and everything to avoid "feeling". I had to stop watching tv at night and just go to bed. You cant eat while you are sleeping!! Find something to distract yourself, use positive thinking. Get…

I think if you can plan a treat and stay within you calorie budget, that is totally awesome!! I hope to be able to do that.....

A lot of different opinions here, you will have to figure out what works for you. Come up with your own plan and rules based on your life experiences. And allow yourself to adjust your rules as life dictates. I think "patttience" really nailed it. BTW- I am an advoidence person right now. It is too hard for me to flip flop…

If rants helps- do it!!! We all fighting the good fight to achieve our individual goals. It is hard, very, very hard sometimes. Food is everywhere- you can't escape it, or just stop eating. Have you thought about writing down all the healthy foods and snacks you like and planning a few days in advanced including logging,…

Totally with you there. I have stopped eating processed sugar and flour. And I don't eat artificial sweeteners anyway. Just a little honey. I feel a lot better, and cravings are slightly less, and I have not eaten on auto pilot since I cut those two things out. Problem is those two things seem to be in everything under…
