  • Yes! I forgot about mushrooms. I love raw mushrooms.
  • Today I had 85g (or more) of each: mushrooms onions carrots broccoli green beans Brussels sprouts Adzuki beans and beluga lentils tomatoes raspberries sour cherries black cherries blood orange
  • If it is better, the only reason I’d still buy Halo Top is flavours. Halo Top has a few flavours that I really like and looks like CoolWay has nothing similar.
  • Thanks! I never go to Sobey’s, but there’s one near my in-laws so I’ll check this weekend. I’m going to assume it’s pretty expensive. The CoolWay website claims a Walmart near me carries it but they don’t actually have any. :disappointed:
  • Has anyone in Alberta found this at Walmart? I’ve looked in a couple of locations and no luck. I haven’t actually been able to find it anywhere.
  • We did this in one of the schools I went to as well. I thought it was pretty good until you got to the bottom of the bag and it was mostly seasoning and too salty to even eat.
  • I make a lot of beans at a time so I have them longer than 2 weeks. The texture doesn’t suffer when they’re frozen in liquid, not that I’ve found.
  • Kohlrabi. I just peel them, cut them up, and eat them. They’re in the same family as broccoli and cauliflower (I believe) so they taste similar, but better. They’re one of my favourites. When I buy broccoli I cut the florets off of the top, I usually eat those steamed, and I peel the tough outside off of the stalks and eat…
  • I eat lots of raw vegetables. I like cucumber, sugar snap peas, bell peppers (yellow and orange mostly), zucchini, tomatoes, carrots, kohlrabi, broccoli (the stalks more often than the florets), cauliflower, celery, radishes, lettuce, spinach. I don’t eat any one vegetable specifically for the nutrients it contains, I just…
  • That’s exactly what I do. 1 cup of cooked beans, then add some cooking liquid and squeeze the air out of the bag and freeze. I’ve frozen them without the liquid and they freezer burn quite quickly.
  • I cook and freeze beans al the time, and I’ve never re-boiled them after defrosting. They’re already cooked, you don’t need to cook them again.
  • I agree. I remember buying it a few times once I moved away from home, but always went back to the whole wheat bread. We also never had plain whole wheat bread, we had the whole wheat bread that was full of grains and seeds and sometimes nuts. It’s still the only kind of bread I buy. My husband eats white bread, and I’ve…
  • My grandmother used to give me chicken livers, which I liked. The only time I had beef liver was when I was staying at a friend’s house overnight, I was probably 10 or so, and her mother made liver for us for dinner. We ate outside in her yard at a picnic table, and both of us threw our liver into the bushes. It was gross!
  • Breakfast Food: Huevos Rancheros Fruit: Passionfruit Veg: Brussels sprouts Sweet Snack: lychee Hi-Chews Takeaway Dish: Pizza Childhood Fave: Dungeness crab dipped in mayonnaise Alcoholic beverage: piña colada 3 things to eat for the rest of your life: Spam, Hawaiian sweet rolls, seafood (any kind) 3 foods you HATE!:…
  • Sort of the same for me. I get 10-15 85g servings of fruit and vegetables everyday (except Sundays, that’s my latte/pizza/ice cream day). Today I had (85g servings of each): raspberries sour cherries blood orange peach carrots celery onions broccoli cauliflower Brussels sprouts green beans spinach chickpeas
  • I’m actually really good at moderating Oreos. I can have one or two a day, and sometimes go many days in between without even thinking about them when they’re in the cupboard. I tried the thins for the first time almost 2 years ago on vacation. I bought one package, and thought that I could have a few every day and they’d…
  • I didn’t think I would like the thins, because I like the double stuf better than the original, but it turns out the thins are my favourite out of the three.
  • Yes! And even if Save-On has some in stock, I’m not driving to one just for ice cream. I couldn’t even tell you where one is near me. Might have to try the Breyers, I just don’t like how boring their flavours are. Chocolate and vanilla aren’t that exciting and cookies & cream isn’t a flavour I usually go for. I’d try…
  • Everywhere I’ve gone has been sold out. None at Superstore since the first day I saw them. Crowfoot Co-op has spaces now for all 10 flavours, but they were all gone except a couple of pancakes & waffles pints. I’m still hoping for a sale, but I’m afraid that when they do go on sale there won’t be any to buy. :disappointed:
  • Ha! I forgot about this. We weren’t allowed white bread in my house, and when I was 11 I started babysitting the kids across the street. Their house was always full of candy and snacks that I wasn’t allowed to have, but the one thing that I was obsessed with was eating their white bread because I had never had it before.…
  • I think this is one of the strangest things I’ve ever heard. Why would mushing it up before you eat it be different from mushing it up with your teeth?
  • My 40 year old husband still eats buttered toast with white sugar and cinnamon. I never had that as a child, but my dad was unemployed for a while and I remember eating lots of mustard sandwiches. Whole grain bread and yellow mustard. I always thought it was pretty tasty, and I think I’d rather have that than a sugar…
  • No. I don’t like it at all, it ruins the taste and texture of the good stuff on the inside. I don’t care how many nutrients it has or how much fibre it has, I’m not eating it. I don’t like regular potato skins either! It’s like eating dirty paper. :confounded:
  • I feel the same way. I also don’t like reheated food (unless it’s something like soup or a meat sauce for pasta), so the thought of reheated food for an entire week is really offputting. I have to have meat and vegetables freshly cooked. I do pre-plan my meals in advance, though. I’ll usually plan what I’m going to eat 3…
  • I just bought some of these but I haven’t tried them yet. The gingerbread flavour at Christmas was really boring, so I’m hoping this one is better.
  • Tofu. Back when I was a vegan I ate a lot of tofu, and I hated it so much, but I didn’t know what else to eat for protein (this was back in the 90s). I tried it prepared so many different ways, and it was always vile. I hear all the time that tofu has no flavour, and it soaks up the flavours of what it’s cooked in, but I…
  • Thanks! Might check some of the other Co-ops around here, there are like 5 of them within a 10 minute drive from here, one of them must have more flavours than the Crowfoot one. Will probably wait for a sale, though… I think Canada was only supposed to get 10 flavours, so that’s probably all of them at that store.
  • They’re delicious, but my sister hates them, so I know they’re not for everybody. The rum & ginger cookie and Irish cream ones are my favourite. The rum blondie and vodka key lime ones are good, but my least favourite. I have the rum & ginger cookie, Irish cream, and whiskey truffle flavours in my freezer right now.…
  • That’s strange. Is the downtown Co-op a big one? I know that the smaller Co-ops don’t carry nearly as much as the larger ones (the Brentwood one is the worst) but you’d think downtown would have some.
