I learned the hard way. Bought pre package pizza that said it was 500 something calories but after weighing, it was more like 900 something. It was enough to wipe out my deficit and then some. Now I weigh and log everything, especially pre-packaged food.
-
Well, a couple of things I see that could be problematic: you logged 1 banana, did you weigh it before you logged it? bananas can vary in size and weight. did you also measure your protein powder by grams? or the peanut butter? and the flax seed? I see a lot of tablespoon and cups measurement and that could be the issue.
-
How are you measuring your food? are you weighing everything on a food scale? if not, then that's probably the culprit. And by weighing everything, I do mean that. Condiments, breads, oils, nuts, etc.

Wonder if the projection is off due to the op's height. Maybe it can't project properly in people under 5 feet or something like that.

The whipped butter has less calories. I use earth balance because Im cutting down on dairy. So far, so good. I personally like my baked potato with just a little earth balance, and that's it. But if you want cheese, Daiya!
-
that's what I do. a projection is just that..projection. not necessarily accurate.

Nope. Had a tubal, haven't gained weight because of it. The only con I had was gas pain in my shoulder, but the doc gives you painkillers. I had no other pain and it went away in two days and then I was good to go. Compared to a c-section, a tubal is awesome.

Something I'd just like to point out: Just because the food is pre packaged does not mean the calorie count is accurate. You would have to weigh the dish prior to cooking to make sure it matches the weight on the box.

I think the HR models tend to overestimate, which is why I did not get an HR fitbit. They are only good for steady state cardio. 3000 seems way too high. If I walk 5 miles a day, at 5'7" and 163 lbs, I burn about 2000 calories a day. But that's with purposful exercise, so 10k steps per day and about 30 mins of cardio a day.
-
I do, depending. Sometimes I'm too busy and can't eat breakfast, or sometimes I just don't feel hungry until 11 am. Nothing wrong with skipping meals if you truly don't want to eat. I can always make up the calories later in the day, anyway.

Ok, out of curiosity I took a Hydroxycut pill because I got it as a sample from Netrition and it made me so jittery, nauseous and icky. I threw out the rest of the sample because the side effects were horrible.

I hear you. Although I never lost the baby weight minus 15 lbs that came off after delivery. It's my fault, though. I weigh my food but then I just....give up and stop weighing and just eat whatever I want. It took me a while to realize I can't have certain foods around me. So def. weigh and measure your food with a food…

It's actually 20 percent and it's per serving size. So if something has two servings, it could be up to 40 percent more in terms of calories. But if you weigh everything then that's not an issue.

If he's so mad, why doesn't he do any of that stuff? He needs to understand the gym is YOU time. Also, as someone who is chronically ill and has to go to the hospital once a year on average, thank you for all you do <3

How would a one off thing like that cause cardiac arrest? o__O

Same. I'm a D cup and I have a small frame so I feel like they're too big for my body. I'm hoping they go back down to C's, which is what they were before weight gain.

Took my a long time to realize this. I quit junk food over a week ago. I don't buy it, I'm not tempted. I do eat fast food once or twice a week but it's only one slice of pizza, or a small item.

The NYS law only applies to restaurants that have a certain amount of locations. A local diner won't have the calorie counts on it if there's less than ten or twenty, or whatever the number is.

Having lived on Long Island all my life and regularly going to Manhattan, I can say the portions are the same as any other place. The price though....wooo. You pay twenty dollars for a simple pasta dish at most places. Also, the Times Square restaurants are way overpriced and usually very crowded.
-
Never been to Vancouver but I know of it. From what I've gathered, Vancouver is almost like a mini Manhattan. Very walkable, you can take buses and trains everywhere instead of cars. Some places in Washington are not like that and you need a car to get anywhere. If you go to Manhattan you'll see the same thing. People…

Yes, that is SSI. I edited my coment to say that. SSI is if you have no work credits, no job, and very limited income. However, qualifying as a child is very different than qualifying as an adult and I highly doubt there are many kids on SSI because they're obese.
-
Nope! SSDI is paid for by the person getting it. You need to have work credits, which you accumulate depending on your age and how long you've been working. You MUST pay into it in order to qualify. Now SSI, that's if you have no job and no work credits and limited income. That is not paid by the individual.

If Dance Moms has taught me anything, it's that all reality shows are scripted.

I was under the impression that rich people and/or athletes pay for health care themselves. I mean, I'd figure a pro boxer would have a hard time getting insurance due to the association with concussions and brain damage. Same with footballers.

Are there incentives from health insurance companies to lose weight or keep your weight normal? Just curious because my boyfriend got a notice from his job saying that he won't qualify for short term disability through his insurance due to his weight. It has to be under a certain number. It's strange because as far as I…

I bet TLC paid for Whitney to do those things in order to get an episode out like that. I wonder if she lost weight if TLC wou;d allow it, because if Whitney did....then there's the premise of the whole show. I suppose it depends on what the contract looks like.

I believe that poster is saying that you can be morbidly obese and feel fine for a while, but it'll catch up to you. It's not the same thing as being thin. The whole thing is that the amount of extra weight and fat put stress on the joints and heart, which will eventually cause pain. Thin people do not have this problem…

Pretty sure banana mayo sandwiches and eating a whole box of pizza regularly is what caused her to gain weight, not PCOS like you said. And hey, look at Jillian Michaels. She has PCOS and looks great.
-
I just did it cold turkey. Stopped buying junk food, problem solved for me. If I don't have it around, I am not likely to go out and get it, tbh. I've tried cutting back but if it's in front of me, I can't stop.
-
Ok, now I need to know. Who is that?
