Gear Fit 2 is going crazy
The first 2 days I had my gear fit 2, it was fine. Now it's saying I burn 10k-30k calories a day! Anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking of resetting it.

vivofit vs fitbit cals
Okay, so my fitbit died and after getting 5-6 fitbits that died quickly over 2 years, I finally gave up on the company. my products were warrantied so I'd get replacements for free but the last one didn't have a warranty and I said screw it. The thing is though, I get different calories on the vivofit. example: 8,000 steps…

Any vegans? add me!
So, I'm transitioning from a vegetarian to vegan diet for mostly health reasons, though ethical reasons play a part too. If you're a vegan or transitoning to veganism, feel free to add me. Right now I am doing 5 days a week vegan, 2 days vegetarian for a month or two then committing to a fully vegan lifestyle after that.

Should MFP always be set to sedentary?
So, I have a simple question. Should I always leave MFP to sedentary, or should I change it? I've been hitting the gym 4x a week [Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun], doing 40-50 mins at a 10-13 mph pace, and covering 8-11 miles on the recumbent bike each session. I've always set MFP to sedentary, and track through my Fitbit. And I do…

Anyone use a mini trampoline/rebounder?
I recently bought a mini tramp for my birthday and I did my normal Leslie Sansone workout but oh man...I didn't realize how hard a mini tramp would be. I made it ten minutes in before I had to finish the workout off of it. I was dripping with sweat and have never sweated that much during a workout before. I think for my…

Do you get told you don't need to lose weight?
Background: I have high blood pressure and heart problems due to a rare condition I acquired in my early 20s. I have to take b/p pills [ACE inhibitor] and the max dose of beta blockers. And I have a leaky valve, but it's not serious yet. I also have an ICM implanted in my chest to watch for arrythmias. So because of all…

Alta not synching
All of a sudden, my Fitbit Alta isn't synching to my Android [Moto E] phone. Either it won't synch at all, or it simply won't display steps or anything in the app. I've tried restarting the Alta several times. I've uninstalled and installed the Fitbit app twice, I've turned off and on bluetooth and have restarted my phone…

Anyone do Tracy Anderson's vids?
My normal thing is walking 5-7 miles a day but I'm looking to switch up my routine. I don't go to the gym because I don't have my own car and I'm a full time parent with a toddler. I also have fibromyalgia and some other things and I find that using things with heavy weights sets it off big time. I won't be sore for one…

Fitbit vs MFP
OK, so I have a Fitbit Alta and I ran for 12 minutes and it said I burned 122 calories in the Fitbit app as mine auto logs exercise after ten minutes. But when I synch my Fitbit with MFP, MFP says I only burned 47. Anyone know what that's about??

Is There Anything That Doesn't Taste Good Anymore?
As the title says, is there anything that just doesn't taste good to you anymore that used to? I used to be big on sugary cereals but I just cannot stand the sweetness of most of them anymore. Like Captain Crunch, Fruit Loops, etc. I also don't enjoy overly salty food either. KFC's fries come to mind.

Just got a food shock...
No wonder I keep losing and gaining the same four pounds over and over again. I log and weigh most things. I don't log condiments like ketchup or butter because I hardly use it except in very small amounts. So I would weigh my bagels and log it, but not the whipped butter I'd put on top. Or cream cheese. However, I've been…

Low Iron & Severely Vitamin D deficient
So almost three years ago I was in a car accident and fractured my left knee up and down the right side as well as had a bunch of soft tissue inujries. I've been having problems with my knee since then even though I did four months of PT and tried to stay somewhat active. I went to my new PCP because my insurance requires…

No more chocolate for me, I guess :(
Whenever I have chocolate, I get tummy discomfort which includes horrible, painful cramps followed by running to the bathroom multiple times. It's so strange! I never had a problem with chocolate until now, and it's only chocolate. I can eat fettucine alfredo with no issues, or mac and cheese. But something about chocolate…

Injured Knee :(
Almost three years ago, I was in a car accident as a passenger. An ambulette [think huge van that's meant to transport disabled people to dr's appointment] ran a red light and was speeding, and hit my side of the car. I had a comminuted knee fracture up and down the right side of my left knee plus lots of soft tissue…

My Fitbit Fell Apart D:
I had my Fitbit for seven months almost, and last night it completely fell apart. In addition, the metal clasp on my Fitbit Charge has started falling out as well. I've previously tried to use epoxy to put it back together, but that didn't work. I already contacted customer service once when my Fitbit clasp came undone and…

Do you eat junk? why or why not?
Out of curiosity, who here eats junk food, and who doesn't? If you do or don't eat junk, why? This morning I had a donut. The last two days in a row I've had a butter croissant, I've also had Cheetos, chocolate chip cookies and Wheat Thins. However, I log it all and I run for miles and miles a day so I can afford to eat…

Is low carb dangerous? possibly.
I don't eat low carb, but I was wondering if low carb diets long term are unhealthy. I came across an NIH article that detailed how many carbs, proteins and fats each and every organ of your body requires. It said that the brain alone requires 120-130 grams of carbs a day to remain healthy. To me, that implies eating a low…

How I Learned To Like Cardio
I see a lot of questions like: "how do I get started with cardio?" "how will my body handle it if I am overweight?" Well, the answer is: start slow! Back in August, I bought a Fitbit for my birthday. At the same time, I started doing Leslie Sansone's walking videos indoors. I started with the one mile walk once a day.…

Sometimes I hate serving sizes
So, I have a bunch of mac and cheese boxes from Annie's and I'm looking at the box trying to figure out what a serving size of cooked mac and cheese is supposed to be because I want to make some tomorrow. All it says is one cup. That's a useless measurement! And the box says it makes 3.5 servings. How is it that the box…

Too much water - it's true.
I want to share a story about what happens when you drink too much water. In October, I was in the hospital for cellulitis and a neck abscess. I was hooked up to multiple IV antibiotics for a week. One day when I was sleeping, I had an episode of ventricular tachycardia. This is a dangerous rhythm that can lead to…

What food changes have you made so far?
It's a new year, and a lot of us are making changes to the way we eat in an effort to lose weight. Recently, I stopped buying frozen meals. Not because I think they are bad for me or anythng, but because they're pricey. On sale, Lean Cuisines are 2 for $5. When they're not on sale, they're $2.99-$3.99 a pop. And I bought…

Fitbit Getting Sued
A lot of us have Fitbits, so I thought this was worth mentioning. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2016/01/lawsuit-claims-fitbit-devices-dangerously-underestimate-heart-rate/ Personally, I don't understand how something that doesn't have a chest strap can one hundred percent be accurate with heart rate monitoring. Also,…

Is there anything you don't log?
Out of curiosity, what foods do you not log? for me, I don't like spices like pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, etc. I also don't log ketchup because I use so little of it. Oh, and I don't log some veggies if I'm consuming a small amount of it, like a couple pieces of spinach or kale.

Philips Pasta Maker!
So, my boyfriend bought the pasta maker for me as an early Christmas present. I absolutely love it! It churns out fresh pasta in ten minutes for a single batch, and fifteen minutes for a double batch. I made soba noodles because I like wheat noodles. It's slightly less starchy and more fiberous than all purpose flour. Does…

Can't exercise :(
So, last week I had a cardiac ablation for AVRNT. No heavy lifting or exercise for a week. It was one week ago on Tuesday, I thought I'd be able to handle exercise but nope. Not only do I have horrible fatigue, but chest pain too due to inflammation from where the tissue was burned. It takes three months to fully recover…
