  • You are in the right place and off to a good start. You posted, you reached out, and you admitted to yourself what you need to lose. Now take one step at a time and do what you know needs to be done. There are thousands of people on this site going through the same difficulties you face. You can do this!
  • I've lost 5lbs so I am learning but it is a slow process. It is great that you are getting started eating healthy now. Have you heard of Mother's Milk tea? It is supposed to help boost your supply.
  • When I lost the weight I nursed a lot. Plus I would eat small frequent meals throughout the day. I never had time to eat a big meal, much less prepare one, so I ate all day but just a little at a time. I know I was one of the lucky few that lost weight while BF. Now that she is weaned it started to come back quickly. Now…

  • have you had a problem with supply? i didn't join mfp until I was done nursing (after 2.5 years) and the weight started coming back. while I was nursing the weight flew off. I ate pretty much what I wanted and was losing weight. when I was nursing, the most important thing was drinking lots of fluids. hope that helps! I'd…
  • If i were to lose a pound a week I should have lost 6lbs by now. I guess I'm just feeling frustrated with my SLOW progress. My official weigh-in is Friday but I weight myself daily to see where I am at. This week the numbers aren't changing. It is looking like it will be my 3rd weigh-in in a row at 142.6. In my head eating…
  • I am exercising about 60-90 minutes a week. Not a lot. When I do exercise I am eating back my calories as I've seen a lot of people say that you should (usually 100-300 calories).
  • Did one mile today! That brings my total to 9.6 miles for the first week. Starting week 2 tomorrow. :)
  • try eating an extra couple hundred calories a day for a couple weeks and see what happens. you should count your bike rides since you clearly know they add up. you probably just aren't eating enough. if you aren't moving anywhere right now it won't hurt to eat more and see what happens.
  • so glad you are getting healthier. hope you feel better after getting sick last night! the numbers on the scale will get there. Like you said, you are getting back in shape from the inside. The outside will catch up eventually. Great job! :)
  • i log everything. today i even logged the vitamins i took because i noticed they have a few calories in them. if you don't log all the little stuff, it adds up. well, it adds up even if you don't log it. what i mean is, don't think it doesn't count just because you don't log it. it will add up and sabotage your good work…
  • You will always be moving faster than the person sitting on the couch. Be proud of yourself for your accomplishments. Focus on how you feel instead of your time. It is amazing that you can do that. I probably couldn't make it down the block. Even if you are the slowest in the race, you are still an inspiration to many of…
  • It is exercise so it will burn calories. You can check the database to see if you like how many calories it burns and think it would be worth it. :)
  • I was one of the lucky few who lost a ton of weight breastfeeding. I BF my daughter until 2.5. Around 2 we went to one feeding a day and are just now finishing with that. The weight is coming back and that is why I joined MFP. I don't think you have to eat extra to keep up your supply but maybe? I didn't, and I guess that…
  • Ok I'll try! But I may only get to 25 miles! But I'll be pushing K in the stroller so maybe she can clock 25 and between us we can reach 50 ;)
  • I think that you can still have all your priorities straight and keep an eye on your weight. That way, you can make sure you are at least not back tracking. You have lost a significant amount of weight and you should be really proud of yourself. But from your goal it looks like you have a lot left to lose. You can still…
  • You need to cut 3500 to lose a pound. So every calorie counts. Just because you are off track doesn't mean you have to change directions. Get outside and exercise and have a salad for dinner! You can do this.
  • You can list "nursing" in your cardio exercise. This will give you an approximate number of calories to add for the day. Good for you for breastfeeding!
  • Just because you are watching what you eat, doesn't mean you have to skimp so much. Add cheeses or sauces to you meals. I know you love cheese! Add some sausage or something else yummy and full of calories to your day. You CAN eat all that as long as you need the calories, like you have. HUGS!
  • If the power goes out, I'll be eating a lot of ice cream to keep it from going to waste!
  • Maybe you could go to the store on your own and price the ingredients for snacks and meals and compare that to the price for what the is cooking. Maybe then she will see it is affordable to buy veggies, even if they are frozen. Even if she can get you lettuce and some low-cal dressing, you can fill up on a salad and have a…
  • I have workout pants that I picked up at Victorias Secret and some from Marshall that are pretty high rise. I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for. For the panty line problem, just wear a thong! :) Good luck
  • I'm just getting started (20 days ago) and also found 1200 to be a little low. I upped to 1300 and that seems to be a good fit for me. I also asked my facebook friends for ideas on low-cal snacks and those have helped me stay full throughout the day (100 calories of popcorn is decent sized bowl-full). I also find when I…
  • You are right, the calories on here aren't always accurate. You can manually enter the calories burned if you think you need to add calories to make it more accurate.
