  • I've moved my sports bras to the tightest fastener. When I bought them a month and a half ago the lady who fit me moved me down to a 36 band from a 38, and they were TIGHT on the largest setting. :)
  • ^ That is just completely not true. I'm drinking a diet coke right now, and I'll not hesitate to drink another one tomorrow. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Aspartame is one of the most thoroughly studied artificial sweeteners out there- and they've never found it to have negative effects on humans in the amount…

  • In October I found out I was pregnant. Huge shock as I went in to have hormone levels checked bc I had not had my period return for 1.5 years after my last depo shot, and I'd taken pregnancy test at home that were negative every month (just happened to have the app at the right time to find out- hcg was in the 400s, so…
  • I have something sweet daily. I fit it into my goals and I think it helps me stay on track bc I don't feel restricted. There's really nothing wrong with sugar, in moderation. Your brain runs off glucose, and your body can't tell if the sugar it's broken down into glucose came from a source like a fruit, or from a piece of…
  • Take some ibuprofen, get a foam roller, and stretch. Sounds like DOMS.
  • I want to make this...buying peanuts tomorrow! Thanks!
  • I'm pretty sure that a bunch of pasta before a marathon isn't quite the same as a diet consisting nearly entirely of Twinkies and the like for an extended period of time. I also never said it was dumb to eat those. If they fit your goals, then have at it. But they are generally considered junk food. I believe it you who is…
  • Just giving the condensed version of the experiment where the professors diet consisted mostly of what is considered "junk food"- or crap food as I referred to it. Are you really going to try and argue the nutritional goodness of Twinkies and Ho-ho's? It's on par as to what the OP was referring to. The professor wanted to…
  • A (edited to correct) nutrition professor recently did an experiment that is along these lines. His diet consisted of Twinkies and other crap food. The result was that he still lost weight because he remained in a calorie deficit. So the answer is that a calorie is a calorie (scientifically speaking, one calorie is equal…
  • ^ I did almost just that tonight. I like to use stewed tomatoes, blended a bit so they're smoother, and I use the "taco seasoning 1" recipe from allrecipes. That's my go to with regular pan tacos with ground meat (turkey, venison, or beex) and it works well bc the stewed tomatoes give a good amount of liquid to cook down…
  • @Asher_Ethan I just had to do a double take to see your profile pic. One of my friends has two boys named Asher and Ethan in that order. :) I'm 5'7" and currently 182. Losing about 2#/week at 1580 before exercise calories...which I try to only eat a small amount of back.
  • Have you looked into the Kraft Mayo with olive oil? A serving of it is 45 calories per TBS vs. 90 in regular mayo- and the taste is pretty on par with regular. I don't use a ton of mayo, but I add it, crushed pineapple with a little juice, celery, curry powder, salt, pepper, and a bit of pecan pieces.
  • You look great! Good job! Being married to a surgeon, we can absolutely afford organic...but intentionally do not purchase it. I refuse to pay more for items that are nutritionally the same as conventional items, but are deceptively marketed and leave people feeling guilty if they can't afford them. So, all that to say,…
  • This. All of this.
  • @gentryatkinson I am so sorry for your losses. I, too, have found myself here after loss, though not full term like yours. That is so, so hard. I would be due June 28, but instead I lost Cohen on Feb 17 at 21 weeks. It was my 30th birthday. You're right in saying it's the worst imaginable heartache, and you wouldn't…
  • I went through ROTC and was in the Army nat'l guard ...and I'm here working on myself too.
  • I have an eat smart scale, and it specifically says that it has to be recalibrated every time it's moved. yours may be different though. I would look up your manual online.
  • I stay home, and work from home (not full time...as I see fit to get my work done refinishing furniture). I have a gym membership and take full advantage of the child watch hours to get my workouts in.
  • You'd be surprised (or maybe not... no, probably not-sadly) at the opposition I received to this in a Facebook forum of people who CALL OUT *kitten*!! People hoping so much that a GM bacteria that's being tested to make people consume less to be their miracle weight loss bullet. They were adamant that CICO didn't work for…
  • I bought size medium workout pants. Yeah- they're stretchy, and a large still fits fine, but I'm on the outlook of "this is what I'll need next month anyway."
  • These are my before and during pics. I'm on day 34 with MFP, tracking and working out. Before is on the right (195), during left (183). I've lost about 12.5 lbs so far, and I WISH I knew how many inches, but I didn't take before ones, but I'll take some to go off from this point on.
  • Check the "recipe" forum. You may get a little further. :)
  • I made this for dinner tonight- didn't add olive oil, and subbed ground turkey for beef, and didn't add cheese into the meal, but let people top their own. http://everydaydishes.com/simple-food-recipes/lazy-stuffed-peppers-recipe/ Skinny taste Garlic coconut shrimp Vegetable stir fry with shrimp
  • Yes, Miralax can cause cramping (I should say- it did for me...even though it's not supposed to- so I suppose that's pretty anecdotal). You can try taking less than you have previously and it may decrease the severity. I think it all depends on just how bad you need to go for how willing you are to take something and deal…
  • So, this is what my husband (who is a surgeon, and uh...deals with getting people to go after surgery) had me do when I had issues after taking a narcotic. This is just what he recommended for me, and I'm passing it along- please don't assume he is advising you here. Now that that disclaimer is out of the way... Miralax in…
  • It has zero calories. It is not your scape goat. Give it time. I didn't lose a single pound for the first few weeks, and then woosh...dropped. Then I held for five days again, and this morning the scale finally moved. It will come if you're really accurately tracking your calories. Give it time.
  • This. Keto acidosis is nothing for diabetics to mess with, but it's been a while since I took physiology so I can't rememeber if it's a big deal for people with type 1 or type 2.

  • A quack "dr."
  • @christinev297 that study has already been blasted by various diet/health/docs/chemists for the flawed methodology. I'm not able to paste a link from my phone on this app (glitch?), but look up "Weighty Matters "What I Learned Actually Reading that New Diet Soda Waist Gain Study,'" to read a bit about the major complaint…
