This is me this week. Started at 197, down to 168-170. Stuck here for a week. I KNOW that's not a long time, and I'm not freaking out, but it's the first time so far that my scale hasn't moved consistently. Sometimes even when we know things, like that weight loss isn't always linear, it's still a little frustrating when…

I'm lifting heavy 3x a week, and I do a bit of cardio 6x a week as well because I enjoy it. I've lost almost 30# (beginning weight in MFP is about 2# off) since I started tracking 83 days ago. I've been pretty aggressive with it, but I'm enjoying what I'm doing, and really starting to like the way my body looks, and how…

That's how I make my shakes, but I use chocolate protein powder, and chocolate pb2. Nom nom.

How do you edit from the mobile app? I've yet to find that feature.

Someone I don't remember seeing at the gym before stopped me today to tell me how great I'm looking. I love when someone you really don't know can recognize your weight loss!
-
Great work! Stick with it. You'll be in those 14s in no time, and looking for 12s!

Ummm hmmm...yesterday was MCM. Nice progress!

I have a Salter digital that I picked up at a goodwill before I started using MFP. Still works, and I like that it takes AAA batteries instead of button style ones. I actually bought a Taylor scale at Target this week just to see if mine was measuring as accurately. I hated it and took it back. It felt cheap, the numbers…

You're doing great! How tall are you? Those are almost spot in for my beginning and current stats too. I'm about 5'7" and excites if I actually look like your current picture!

Skinny taste has a lot of recipes...and the inspiralized site does too.

Me.

I don't drink milk, but I use half and half in my coffee. I use 2% cheddar and light baby bell wedges bc I find the taste to be similar. 0% Greek yogurt, and either 2% or 4% cottage cheese. Otherwise I use full fat cheese if I'm eating it. The only time I've use fat free cheese was when I made pizza. I mixed it with the…

You know, I used to do the hovering, phobia stuff...but then I spent a month in Africa, and then in Russia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and joined the army and went through basic and AIT where it was Porta potty central. Cured me of that. I sit on everything now...can't be worse than all that, and the skin is a pretty darn good…

Small things you do over 8 hours can absolutely add up to as many calories burned as a 45 min-1 hour trip to the gym. You may not get the cardiovascular activity for your heart, but NEAT is nothing to sneeze at. It's much more beneficial to get up and move, than just sit back in your chair feeling like it's pointless all…

Thank you. I didn't even think of looking at that for a comp. Geesh. One of those days.

This. My husband is a grown man, and if he wants to sit next to me and eat a giant bowl of ice cream, that's his thing. I'm doing mine...and I've noticed as time has gone on that he has actually cut down on the excess he eats at night. Lead by example. You can do it.

Can you explain, or point me to an article I can read, about what macros mean for body comp?

Ah- I see- the weightloss goal it gives rather than the TDEE it lists. I just feel like they are so high- I don't want to set a goal higher than the person I sat with in real life recommended. IDK. I guess I need to just get over my mental block and eat back some of the dang calories. I'm losing weight, and I'm not hungry,…
-
Wouldn't the TDEE amount be maintenance for me though? I'm not looking to maintain. I still have about 45 lbs. to lose.
-
I understand that, which is why I moved MFP to active to more closely reach the goals the other sources gave. Even at 1580, after having 4-500 calories added from exercise, I was more in the range of the IIFYM and Scooby calculators. I am. I just don't know how to accurately assess the amount of work I'm doing, and I hate…

I downloaded the app. It's free, and it has the videos linked on it to watch for form. There's also strong lifts 5x5 group on MFP that you can join for more help.
-
Yes. This.
-
I'm with you. I've added in the strong lifts 5x5 program in addition to my cardio exercise routine in the hopes of maintaining lean body mass while in deficit. I just started it last week, so I can't tell you for sure that it's the ticket, but it seems like a lot of the things I've seen recommended say to lift in deficit…

If I ever overdo it on something, I know that it's my fault. It's not the foods fault. I was the one who didn't have the self control to stop. I don't get why we blame so many things on foods. Weight loss is a mental battle more than anything, I think.

https://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/does-the-movie-fed-up-make-sense/ I think it's a shame they can peddle this as a "documentary."

This. Still being new, the stress of figuring our just exactly what to feed myself and my family, and the time it takes to plan, prep, weigh, log, etc. is a little more stressful with small children and my schedule. More so than when I wasn't thinking about it and just poo uttinf our meals together. I tend to not eat…

Lighter version of a childhood favorite from a local restaurant-- the "Italian Special" pizza-- turkey sausage, turkey pepperoni, sauce, reduced fat cheese, onion, pepperoncini, Italian seasoning, parmesan, and a flat out pizza crust. 548 calories (Dinner is always my biggest meal- but even these calories left me room for…
