Aren't questions offensive?

"Excuse me Princess" That is what I want his catchphrase to be like the days of yore.

I've read a lot of Star Wars. I have two shelves full of these books. They are great reads especially the older published stuff when Lucas had a team that made sure they all followed continuity before they were published.

I read most of the Star War novels and I was mad that they screwed up the children of Han and Leia. The books had them with twins (Jaina and Jacen) and a younger son Aniken. Han dying was the best part of the movie. So emotional and such a great tactic to build the story and the struggle Luke will now face of anger and…

I was looking to track and not display. I ended up starting with the Garmin FR10. With my coupons and points, I got it for about $60. It's good for running and cycling but that is about it. I also use it when coaching soccer for the stopwatch. Maybe if I use it enough I can justify spending about $200 on a good one.

When it comes to salads, I tend to generalize it in my log. However, if I add a hard boiled egg, avacado, cheese, or other bonus toppings; then I will itemize the bonuses. My calorie count is also not an exact science. If I get close to my limit then I know I need to do a few more situps before bed or go for a longer after…

Capt and Ginger is one of my go tos. I do love my beer especially with dinner but it really tips the calorie scale when you are watching what you are eating at the end of your day. Reed's Ginger Brew has minimal calories and a lot less sugar than the mainstream ginger ales.

Old guy (70s) was showering in the locker room making very loud grunting noises. Not sure what was happening back there and did not want to know.

Gawd damn! Excellent job.

Anyone use the Garmin Forerunner 10? I see the price of them just dropped under $100. Not bad for a GPS watch. If you have one, how does it do for just a night of walking after dinner or a bike ride? Any issues having Garmin Connect transfer data to mapmyfiness?

Well my Y membership is about to get cheaper. They just hit me up to run their preschool soccer classes throughout the year. Not sure what my discount will be but it will be worth it plus I get to boost the talent in our small town for our small soccer club.

Well I was wrong. Granted the last time I belonged to something like Gold's was in the 20th century and was paying 30-35. I figured inflation would hit the gym market too. Like I said your mileage may vary. For families though, most Y prices and benefits still outweigh the cost of signing up 4 people to a regular gym.

My goal is set pretty low. I'm set at just 5lbs for 5 weeks. My daily allotment is 2150 calories. If I exercise, I figure I'm doing it for strength training and just being fit. So, in hindsight, those calories I burn I use as a buffer zone to allow me to feast within reason. However, there are a lot of days where I burn a…

This sounds good. I found a similar recipe on allrecipes.com that listed it at 124 calories. They did not give it a dollop of sour cream though. You need the sour cream though. I wonder how it would taste garnished with a dollop of fresh chunky salsa.

I love making kale chips. It's really good with sea salt. Real easy to prep and quick cook time.

Dinner is almost done and I'll do the dishes afterwards.

Wow. If my Y was that expensive I wouldn't of joined. I don't care that I can walk there. My family annual is less than some of your quarterlies.

My town population is under 7k. :)

I apologize. I did a quick search and it all depends on the size of your town/city. The smaller the cheaper. I must really have a diamond in the rough because mine also did not have any signup fees. Other than the three separate exercise rooms they have a full court indoor basketball, a dance studio, and a rec room. (Which…

Wow. My Y single person is $25 and my family is $38. Another Y I belonged to in a semi decent city in PA was $36 single and 53 family and they had a pool. LA Fitness near me wants $35 individual plus initiation fees. I guess your miles may vary but the Y is a good option to explore.

Pandora's Funk Station Right now its some Zapp. Before there was some Stevie Wonder.

The hum of thousands of devices spinning away in the data center. It's almost time to take a quick walk outside to enjoy the silence from the white noise.

Five Guys Cheeseburger with toppings hit me for over 1000 calories on my first weekend logging. That didn't include the fries. Good thing I worked out that morning so I was just a hair over my allowed calorie limit. I guess once a week it is ok to splurge.

I will log only 30-40% of my time lifting as actual exercise in mapmyfitness. I go near 40% if I'm doing other activities throughout the day that I won't log like moderate chores or playing with the kids outside etc.

Only two weeks in and its working/educating. I am now more aware of my daily intake. Plus I use mapmyfitness to track my workout/activities. Both apps talk to each other and my calories adjust showing me how much I should eat to maintain/lose. The biggest eye opener is realizing how many calories a lot of my daily foods…

Keep it up. Once you get into a groove after two months, the cravings will minimize.

We just introduced our 13 and 10yo boys to Mal and his Firefly crew. Time to binge through this short series again.
