Nice to see a pancake recipe for a one person serving! Thanks.

Sounds good! I add steamed summer squash and broccoli to pasta dishes often, but have never tried spaghetti squash. Also, puncturing the outer shell and microwaving to soften before cutting is a good tip. When I use butternut squash I always have trouble cutting through the tough shell, so I can use this for them as well,…

Great information! I have lost 92lbs since my heaviest and have around 20 more to go and am seeing some loose skin already on my belly and inner thighs, but it is not that bad yet. I'm not sure how much excess skin I will have when all is lost, but I won't be having any surgery to fix it, so good to know it can tighten…

I'm not to maintanence yet, but i'm 5'2" and used to weigh 230lbs. I'm down to 138 now and have my next goal set at 125, but I'll probably lower it again. I know what you all mean about not needing as many calories as taller people and not having much "wiggle room" without gaining. I am glad to see that so many of you…

^^I know some people with MS and am glad you are "back on your feet" and admire you for trying to improve your lifestyle even with a disease that most of us don't have to endure. As for my journey, I have lost almost 90lbs over the last 5 years by counting calories. My loss has been interrupted by several things along the…

If you don't like to cook, the steam in the bag microwave Uncle Ben's type ready rice is super easy. Pair with frozen microwaveable grilled chicken strips and a veggie or salad. Baked potatoes and sweet potatoes in the oven aren't hard, brush with a bit of oil (about 1 tsp per potato) and bake at 350 until soft through.…

1. Greek yogurt and 1/2 cup fruit (I've been doing half of a mixed berry flavor yogurt and fresh blackberries) 2. a slice of wheat bread with a slice of cheese toasted (can use the thin cut cheese to save calories if need to, also good if sprinkled with garlic powder over cheese before melting it) plus a serving of fruit…

Looks good. I had a 4oz center cut pork chop with an Asian marinade (orange juice and zest, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, chili powder) that I broiled in oven, asparagus with garlic salt and parmesan, and half a baked potato with Onion & Herb Mrs. Dash seasoning. I made my husband turkey sausage with steamed summer…

If only a few weeks, don't worry about it yet. I often have a 2 week period with no loss, then it will go down again...sometimes even jumps down 2-3 pounds in a week after no loss on scale for 15 days.

And my go to breakfast is: 2 large eggs (148 calories) scrambled with .25 oz chopped kale 4 + .5oz diced sweet bell pepper (5 calories) cooked in 1/2 tablespoon butter (50 calories) = 207 1 toasted slice Nature's Own 100% whole wheat bread 55 + 1 tbsp premium raspberry 75% fruit spread 35 = 90 TOTAL = 297 You can add fresh…

^^ I've got to try these banana pancakes! Thanks for that easy recipe!

Sounds good! I had a mixed berry greek yogurt today and added in fresh blackberries for a snack. Yum. And it turns a pretty pink color from the extra juice if the berries get squished.

Here's one I haven't seen yet...I felt I had really accomplished something when I could see bones in my feet. I probably saw them as a child, but had forgotten. I just thought I had thick feet, so when I lost enough to see bones on the top of my foot, I felt so happy!

I'm no expert, but 1200 still looks like it would put you in weight loss mode, even at 101 pounds. I think you need to be eating more like 1450 to maintain if you are lightly active and walk daily. You can check out some weight maintenance calculators online, but I think 1200 is still too low. I hope you can see a…

I started losing for a similar goal, but it was for my 30th birthday. I had wasted my 20s being overweight and eating poorly (for no reason because I actually like healthy food, I had just been to lazy to plan and cook properly), and did not want to be in my 30's in the same shape. I lost 80lbs in a year, eating 1200…

If you are looking to increase calories and volume is the issue where you just get too full, and if carbs bother you, you could try a tbsp of peanut butter or a half ounce of nuts to add more calories, fat, and protein. A serving that small should not tax your stomach much more than what you are already eating, but it is…

Personally, filling things for me are apples, beans, sweet potatoes, tuna, eggs, brown rice, and of course steamed or raw veggies. I know what you mean, though. Some foods I love like melon, salads, berries, oatmeal, yogurt, and for some reason chicken, just don't keep me satisfied long. Nuts are high calorie and don't…

Don't push yourself to exercise when you are unwell. Let your body heal and recover and then get back in the groove. You'll be better soon, and it sounds like your head is in the right place to stay on the health wagon.

I love this post, and it is so true. I am still on my journey, but you are correct that it has to be continuous and the commitment does not end at your goal weight. It helps me to think in the long term when my weight loss is slow, and I know it will slow more closer to goal. Luckily, I don't have to exercise my willpower…

This is truly awesome. I understand what you mean about the person you are with having to at least understand your fitness goals and health needs, and about you not wanting to eat out or eat what others have prepared. My husband is not a fitness or food fanatic because he has always been a normal weight, but he has been…

I had a fruit and a roast beef and bacon sandwich: large Granny Smith apple 110 calories 2 slices Nature's Own 100% whole wheat bread made with real honey 110 + 1 oz deli sliced roast beef 45 + 1/2 oz artisan lettuce 2 + sliced tomato 10 + 1 Hormel uncured bacon slice 40 + 2 tbsp onion 8 + 1/2 tbsp Miracle Whip 20 +…

I have lost 85 lbs and eat whole wheat bread and pasta, brown rice, various types of potatoes in small portions. A balanced diet of all the food groups, portion size, and total calories work for me. I have 20lbs left to goal, and enjoy eating bread almost every day. I don't exclude anything from my diet except soda and…

I agree with the above reply. I don't just eat and move to lose weight, but to fight disease. I want to grow older with the best body I can. I want to feel good about myself and feel good in my body. Keep going even when you don't see quick results, and eventually your body will change for the better. You will have lazy…

I'll send you a request. :)

Add me! I have lost 80lbs and have 20 to go. :)

I took prenatals while trying to get pregnant and with both pregnancies. I have some left, but they made me feel sick, so my body must get too much of something when I take those or multi-vitamins. I actually had both kale and broccoli today, as well as many other fruits and veg. I tend to eat about 12-15 different ones…

Yes, I found MFP database on calcium to be VERY wrong for the foods I was logging. It had a baked potato as more calcium than cheese or milk. I definitely do not use MFP to check calcium content. Thanks again for the responses.

I appreciate the concern about my intake and am super aware that 1200 is the lower limit for health. I get plenty of protein and am great on vitamins A, B, C, D, etc. I have had a blood workup done by a doctor, so I do know this. Also, no problems with iron, I just used that as an example. The only that's really hard for…
