  • My mother in law. She takes it as a personal affront if I don't eat her food, and lots of it. Or her family's food if we're at a gathering. Boredom is another one. "Oh, I don't know what to do with myself. Might as well see how the fridge is doing!". I don't stress eat. I stress starve, and then stress binge.
  • Having been on both sides of the coin - skinny until I was about 20, then ballooning quickly, I do have some lingering resentment about letting myself get so large. I'm lucky to have a husband who loves me no matter what my size, and to have had a healthy pregnancy despite being overweight, but I do wish I could looked…
  • It was a psychiatrist. We discussed wellbutrin, but my anxiety and obsessive compulsive tendancies wouldn't be covered as well by that one, so we went with prozac instead. It was the best option for weight control with coverage of my crazy.
  • I also do fruit, yogurt and granola. And I eat at my desk at work between calls, so breakfast generally takes me about 45 minutes to eat.
  • No gym for me. Jillian Michaels is my gurl, though.
  • Like others have said, try setting your goal to 1lb for a bit, while you ease into it. I was the same way - I felt like I was starving to death, and was extremely uncomfortable for probably the first week and a half when I started out. After that initial adjustment, my body realized we were actually eating, and it got a…
  • You can get the MFP app on your gear, and it sort of syncs (I just have the original gear, so pedometer only), but it way overdoes it on the calories. S Health will show 104 calories, and MFP will log 520.
  • Lupus here, too. Combined with a heart defect and chronic migraines. Love the spoon theory. I try to make sure I have enough left to work out each evening, and if I don't, I don't borrow from the next day, because then I'm just working on a constant deficit. I try to eat a lot of anti-inflammatory foods daily, like…
  • We just eat separate meals. It works a little bit easier, because I work late shifts, so my meal times are different, but when we're home together, I cook a meat (usually venison, which is lower cal than chicken!), chicken or fish, a vegetable, then split a pan of roasted sweet and regular potatoes. The real trick is to…
  • London, Ontario, checking in!
  • Not fibro, but I have Lupus, and the symptoms are very similar. Diet was the biggest factor in starting me losing. I lost 10lbs without even lifting a finger, just by logging my foods and eating less sugar, carbs and processed crap. I also started eating lots of anti-inflammatory foods like cherries, blueberries and ginger…
  • Ontario, Canada. Financial Advisor.
  • I did the same thing with soda. Went from drinking 3-4 a day to 2 a day to 1 a day, now I'm 46 days with no soda. I had a sip last night because it was the only thing in the car to take a much needed migraine pill, and I could barely swallow it tasted so gross after going so long without it. It really does get much easier…
