Are you logging your activity twice? You're logging walking as an activity and then there's a fitbit entry too?

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed reply in such a way that I understand! My primary goal is weight loss, while increasing strength and improving posture (and hoping that a little extra muscle mass will a) burn more calories and b) fill a bit of the excess skin!)

What is DOMS? The routine that I've been given to start off with is using the resistance equipment. I've done the routine 3 times, the first while working out weights etc. with the instructor and then twice by myself. This is what I did yesterday

Is it a case of just being able to do them, or being able to do them and be able to move the next day?!

Thanks :) In terms of exercises - it's not when I'm doing anything in particular, it's more just day to day stuff. I work long hours (8am-7pm) doing a largely desk based job. Although I'm up and down filling prescriptions and unpacking orders, cleaning and things, I do spend the majority of my day sat at my desk. I think…

Thank you - will give it a go, should be interesting to say the least!

I'm not even sure I can do a squat! I can probably do the down bit, but the up bit might be another matter :D

Thank you for your replies - very useful :) My shoulders are fine but I have had back issues in the past. I have a prolapsed disc at the L4-L5 level, which has largely resolved by itself (I came very close to requiring surgery), but there is a small amount of nerve damage as a result but to be honest, that doesn't actually…

I think it's all of the above really. I can only speak from my experience of having to lose a lot (around 50% of my start body weight), but to lose weight successfully, you have to want to do it. Like really want to. The rest then follows. Some people just aren't at that stage yet no matter how much they complain about…

Thanks - didn't realise you could edit the calories :)

Thank you for your reply :) I'm relatively well educated in the theory behind it all (my degree was anatomy with a large element of physiology) but I'm aware that it doesn't always work like the textbook says it should! I'm losing well at the moment, averaging 1.3lbs a week (my calorie count is set with the aim to lose 1lb…
