Jurassic Coast coastal path last week, after a massive hike to the top of the cliff (he had to be carried back down again, he's not as young as he was!)

Thanks for the suggestions guys, will definitely try them. I'm sure it's just the cold air that does it. I'm an avid spinner (anywhere up to 4-5 classes a week) and can breathe absolutely fine indoors really pushing my self to the limit (I can regularly max out my heart rate in some of the classes). But outdoor running,…

The prefix "myco-" means fungus. How more obvious should it be?

I lost weight on antidepressants because they helped me feel well enough to care enough to do something about it

I wonder if it'd work on your ankle?

Your boobs are made up of mammary gland tissue, and fat. You can reduce the fat (from your overall fat stores, rather than spot reducing) but you can't reduce your mammary tissue. Some people have more mammary tissue and less fat than others, that's just the way it is. Sadly I'm not one of them, and I have boobs like…

I don't have any swelling (not that I can see - I'm still overweight with about 30lbs left to lose and carrying most of that around my hips - plus I've already lost 130lbs so my hips aren't the most attractive part of me anyway!). I suspect there's some underlying injury that has caused it to start up. I went for my first…

Was just kind of mentioned in passing (was also there about my blood pressure!) and that the physio will be the best people to sort me out. Got an appointment booked for 15th December. I'm relatively new to exercise but I've broken through the mental barrier in the last two weeks or so and I'll be gutted if I have to stop!

Which country are you in?

Buying frozen fruit/veg to bulk out meals will save ££ and waste compared to using fresh. I don't know about over there, but here (UK) shopping at strategic times of day can save a lot - certain times of day (a couple of hours before closing usually), supermarkets reduce a lot of fresh produce - usually fruit/veg and bread…

I lost 120lbs with my contraceptive implant, so no. Interestingly though, my weight loss made my hormones go a bit mad and I had to have my implant removed (had one for 5 years in total). Now have a mirena coil and can say I've noticed no change in my appetite or rate of weight loss or anything.

Don't think of it as such a big deal. Break it down into much smaller, achievable goals. Set your MFP account up to lose 1lb a week and just make it your aim to log consistently and reach your calorie goal each day. I lost my initial 100lbs just by doing that alone. I didn't even consider exercise until I'd lost that first…

So I've been playing around with my BP monitor and its textbook normal when I'm sitting down, when I stand up and take it, the systolic pressure drops 20-30mmHg and I've been getting readings around 90/70
-
I was there for a completely unrelated appointment this morning and got them to check my BP - 120/58. So who knows what's going on!
-
They're not ignoring it which is good. It's a different doctor I saw this time compared to usual as I just booked in with anyone as it was something completely new. I just mentioned having my BP checked while I was there. What makes no sense to me is that I feel like it's really low, rather than really high...
-
Not sure but I had some pretty comprehensive blood tests a short while ago (3 or 4 months ago) and everything was nicely within the normal range. Ferritin is usually low end of normal but it's monitored regularly and I take iron supplements.
-
They did both and it was similar on both gadgets. I've got a wrist BP monitor arriving tomorrow to test my theory (it's the scientist in me!)

I do Aqua HIIT and it's great. I just wish I could do the things I do in the water, on dry land! One day, baby steps and all that! To the OP: have you considered a pedometer? I'm quite scientifically minded so I like numbers. I wear a heart rate monitor at the gym, I set myself a goal and try and beat my previous time etc.…
-
Slightly different, but I've been having some gynae issues lately and the best thing I've found that don't aggravate my pain or cause more, is actually water based activity, so I've been doing plenty of swimming and aqua HIIT classes

I started out at 356lbs - heavier than this photo I think During (233lbs) About 50lbs to go

Thank you for all the replies! I have literally just done the two runs. I wasn't too enamoured with running after the first, but the second was different - I took a dog with me. Running alone - meh. Running with a dog however, was pretty exhilarating. I'd love to do canicross in the future, but first I need to learn to run…

I keep seeing mention of these, but can't say it's something I've ever heard of. I'm very new to exercise! It doesn't feel like a muscular soreness to me.
-
Definitely! I've got a way to go still, but I'm also seeing that I've come a long way already which is nice!
-
(Oh, for the record, they do fit!!)

This was my walk today :)
-
Possibly the reason that I got to over 350lbs though?!
-
My little mutt is my lifeline and he's seen me through some very tough times. Walking him is the highlight of my day, although unfortunately he's getting on a bit now and has a few medical issues so long walks are rare.

I'd eat the entire pizza, thus eliminating the dilemma in its entirety.

I have the thigh equivalent of bingo wings! My stomach, thighs etc. I can live with, because the only people who need to see it is me and my partner who loves me enough to not care what I look like. My upper arms however, are really bad. And it is largely loose skin now - I seem to have lost all my weight from my upper…

I've lost 120lbs since 1/1/14 and have about 50 to go. I go to the gym and combine resistance and cardio exercises. I eat a healthy diet, I pay attention to my water intake etc. Couldn't tell you about genetics - I come from a skinny family! There's definitely still fat in the loose skin, but it's very much going to be…
