Great work! You look happy.

I tend toward anemia and have low blood pressure, too. Diet wise, you can also try adding a high iron food like blackstrap molasses. It also has B vitamins & magnesium in it. A spoonful in tea or coffee is delicious! My doc also advised me to keep my sodium levels up...folks with low blood pressure should NOT go on low…

Wow!!! You are such an inspiration!

I spent my whole life thinking my body was incapable of certain things. I was wrong. The human body is a wonder!

Sugar snap peas, cucumber, and radishes are my faves. I also started peeling & cutting up large carrots into sticks rather than purchasing bags of baby carrots. They taste so much better to me and aren't wet & icky, like the bagged kind. Less convenient, but I just prep a bunch at once and keep them ready to grab from the…

Oh, the joys of family! They definitely know which buttons to push! As another person said, misery loves company. Some people are threatened when others take control of their own lives because it reminds them of their own failures/struggles. Try to have a mental response/phrase ready to counter their insults. Repeat it to…

When the rest of your life seems out of your control, throw your energy into whatever you CAN control. Your living situation & job hunt are going to take time to sort out. In the meantime, focus on your weightloss goals. You may feel powerless in other areas right now, but you can be very powerful in this specific area. I…

No time like the present! Think of losing the weight as a gift you're giving to yourself. You can do it! :)

Perfect timing for this question! All I did was quit adding half & half to my coffee and I dropped 3 stubborn lbs. in 2 weeks. I made no other change to my diet or exercise. I typically drink 3-4 cups a day and I figure that was easily adding up to at least an extra 100 calories a day. So I figured I could either save the…

Yes! Same here. An extra 5 lbs (at least) of bloat/water weight before my period starts is typical for me.During this time, all my clothes feel uncomfortable & binding - I hate it.

Good for you! What a remarkable change!

Very inspiring read! Thanks for sharing your story. You look terrific!

Finding this thread to be so comforting in a "misery loves company" kind of way -- haha! I'm 45 and in the throes of peri...night sweats, bloating, ferocious mood swings, sore breasts, brain fog, etc. I am struggling with feeling rage over stupid stuff -- so out of character for me. I'm usually very peaceful & calm.

Welcome to all the new folks who have just started to follow this thread. You are among friends! Take each day as it comes and be gentle with yourself - change is difficult. I hope you find encouragement and support here to help during the process. As for me...almost 2 months into this challenge and have managed to…

Checking in. Doing well...not perfect, but much improved. Started this challenge on 8/29 and had 3 drinks total in Sept and 2 so far this month (celebrating my anniversary). That's a big switch from almost daily drinking. For those who are struggling with an all or nothing mindset, please don't despair. You are not a…

Same here. Had it since age 12 or so. I've never been able to totally eliminate mine, even when I was underweight in my 20s (I'm 45 now). I agree with others that say building muscle helps...my cellulite was far less noticeable when I was doing lots of cycling & weight training.

While I certainly understand your decision @purplelavender7, your positive encouragement & uplifting voice will be sorely missed here. Thank you for starting this thread!

Today I was in the middle of a run on my treadmill when I had to take a call from my drs. office. I hit pause on the machine to answer and realized I didn't have to catch my breath or gasp for air before saying hello. I was able to talk fairly comfortably! And this was a couple of miles into my run! I'm getting much fitter…

So inspiring!! Thank you for sharing. You look so happy & healthy!

Just checking in with all you lovely people. Started this challenge on 8/29 and have had a grand total of 3 drinks. Cravings subsided after the first couple of weeks, but still feel very tempted in certain situations. I have to have a little internal dialogue to talk myself out it and remind myself why I'm doing this -…

What an accomplishment!! Congrats to both of you!

Woah! Incredible!!

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your story!! Amazing transformation!

I'm in for another month! Last month's thread was very helpful. In 27 days, I've had a grand total of 3 drinks -- down from @ 3 drinks per day! Want to keep up the momentum because I feel much better all around.

Holy cow!!! Congratulations! You are incredibly inspiring!

21 days in and I've only had 1 beer. While I'm pleased about that, I'm feeling discouraged that the scale isn't really reflecting the loss of so many calories. I haven't exchanged more food or other drinks for the alcohol, and my activity level is consistent, so I'm frustrated. Still...I do *feel* much better.
