  • A ) I find that I spend SO MUCH LESS money when I make meals at home. Huge bonus. B ) I stopped eating meat. Not because I wanted to stop eating fast food, but the result has been a lot less fast food because it isn't as gratifying to go to McDonalds just for the lettuce.
  • An update for anybody who is interested... I got the Zombies Run app, and I think it is really fun. I have only gone on 3 runs so far, as a great piece of advice was to not run daily, but I ran for the whole time, each time. After reading about the importance of starting slow, I was much less worried about how far I was…
  • I've thought about investing in one of those. Do they make any noise?
  • Woah, you guys are awesome! I'm already feeling better about taking another bite of the apple. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all of this incredible advice!! :)
  • I really like the Buff Brand headwear. They are very versatile and can be worn like a headband, or a hat (kinda sorta), and lots of other ways when you're not working out. I use mine to keep my long hair tamed while I sleep, but also when I'm out an about to keep flyaways at bay. And they come in lots of different designs…
  • When I was swimming regularly, I used special shampoo and conditioner after I spent time in the pool. It is called "Ultra Swim" and I got it at Walmart, or on Amazon, both fairly cheap. I would also follow it up with a leave in conditioner, such as Infusium. Before getting in the pool, wet hair, spray some leave in…
  • Look up Joanna Soh on youtube... she has a couple of videos on quick, do at home exercises. I know she has a 5 minute ab video that really gets your core burning.
  • I definitely have a hard time on the weekends. My boyfriend and I are in an LDR and we only see each other on the weekends. I don't like to waste my time cooking, so inevitably we go out and eat most meals. He is also super skinny and needs to eat about twice as much as I do. He's very supportive, but the weekends are…
  • I'm 5'3 and have about 20 to lose. I remember in college when I would gripe about my weight, one of my friends would say, you would look fine if you were a bit taller. Ugh! But yes, we do hold our weight differently, and often, a couple of pounds can look like a lot more than it would on a taller frame. Fight the good…
  • Hi! My name is Abby, and I could definitely use some motivation. I'm in the Army Reserves, and it seems that every time I go on a break from Active Duty, I gain a ton of weight. I came off of Active Duty in October, was bombarded by the holiday season, and then came back on to Active Duty, about 20 pounds overweight. I'm…
  • I love Ipsy. I have had it for over a year, so I have noticed a little bit of overlap with products, but I think it is easy enough to go in and change your preferences so you start getting different products. About every other month I get something that won't work for my skin, or that I already have and I usually just pack…
  • I'm obsessed with overnight oats. Just the fact that I don't have to cook or clean up anything in the morning before I go to work is attractive to me, but I love that they can be customized for various preferences.
  • Feel free to add me. I'm no expert, but certainly no stranger to the world of weight loss. I fell off of the wagon and need to get back on, so I could use some motivation too!
  • I agree that stepping on the scale week after week and not seeing it budge is the most frustrating feeling out there. But like poster above me said, the scale is certainly not the sole indicator of success. I have a pair of pants that I call my "goal pants". They hang in my closet so I can see them every day when I get…
