I just finished The Roadmap to 100: The Breakthrough Science of Living a Long and Healthy Life. Emphasis on exercise and nutrition. Good read

I lost 25 lb almost 3 years ago, gained 10 lbs back and have been fighting to get down there again. After reading a lot of the posts here I think I understand what I have been doing wrong. Rather than be in diet mode, I need to look at it as a way of eating for the rest of my life. That perspective changes the way I go…

Your calories for your walk seems high to me. How many minutes and how many miles per hour do you walk? Do you eat back those calories?
-
Cheetos and Fritos
-
It's a mixed bag. Half the people I know who had the surgery gained it all back. Half have kept it off. As pointed out before, you have to change your lifestyle
-
Bacon and eggs with broccoli mixed into the eggs. A great way to get veggies in
-
I said no to halt a quesadilla but yes to the margarita

Yes exercise will give you more calories to eat. To echo the above post, it's all about calories in versus calories out. You need to eat at a deficit to lose weight.

Get right back on the horse and figure out how it happened.
-
Various people will have various ideas. I'm eating back half of my exercise calories.

By taking the first step and making this post, you're on your way. There art lots of people on this site who lost 100 lbs or more by using this site. Check them out under the Success Stories tab.

My wedding ring is getting loose- again

I too have a loose ring. I've had it 32 years and it's time to get it resized!

I'm on day 41 of starting over. I hope to make it all the way to my goal this time. I've been yo-yo in for years

If a guy wanted to attract me, all he would need is bread cologne.

I've been doing a modified version of low carb for a few years. It's easier for me to stay in a calorie deficit that way. I LOVE bread and flour and can never feel full when I eat it so low carb eating will be in my future forever if I want to maintain.
-
I'm also interested. Help get me over this hump.

I've been on statins for years with no side effects. Good luck with the surgery.
-
My psychiatrist put me on it to counteract the weight gain from my other psych meds. Overall I have lost 60 lbs over 7 the 7 years I have been on the meds.
-
My motivation is to get more calories to eat.
-
Have you ever considered therapy?
-
I too am on mess for mental illness. Because of the weight gain side effects my psychiatrist put me on welbutrin. That helps counteracts that.

Carbs such as pasta, bread and rice make me hungrier after I eat them so I avoid them. The worst food for me is Cheerios for some reason.
-
I'm like the guy above. I can't handle only having a little bit. I can't even begin to save enough calories to have some every day. So for now it's forbidden. I don't know what I will do on maintenance. I have a ways to go before I have to face the problem head on.

Several psych mess are well known to cause weight gain. Some slow metabolism which isn't really surprising given the fact that they are literally rebalancing a chemical imbalance of the brain.

Therapy to learn why I binge

Eggs and broccoli for breakfast and peanuts for a snack. Greek yogurt
