Bruising, Losing Decent Weight

Hello!! I've been exercising and eating right (lower cals, min 1200/day and healthy choices!) for 3.5 months but I've been finding A LOT of random bruises all over my body, mostly on my sides and legs. Might this be due to fat loss (I'm down 20lbs in 3.5 months) or a nutritional deficiency, or something else? I take a women's potent multivitamin every day and am a stringent vegetarian.

Hmm could be less padding but being veg, you may need more iron than you're getting from your multi.

Too much Vitamin C can also cause bruising, according to my doctor.

Also vitamin deficiency particularly bs can cause bruising. As u are a ve you should be taking b12 and a good bcomplex. Also if you have whit marks on your nail bed its a zinc deficiency.

New-onset bruising is not something to take lightly. In the context of a recent diet, it's most likely a vitamin deficiency (particularly Vitamin K, which is needed for blood clotting, and which requires a healthy amount of fat in your diet). Definitely see a doctor and get some blood work done - one vitamin deficiency often means multiple vitamin deficiencies, and it'd be wise to make sure your bruising and weight loss are not signs of something more serious, like kidney disease or cancer.

See a doctor. Get your blood work done.

Don't go raid the supplements shelf at your pharmacy willy-nilly. Definitely get it checked out by a healthcare professional.

Sounds like a doctor visit is in order. Iron deficiency perhaps.

    You should call your doctor.

If you recently started on blood thinners, bruising is super-common with those. Just FYI.
