  • Yes Chia Seeds are high in protein, fiber and Omega 3 oils. The brain requires Omega 3 to lubricate the nerve endings and is something the body is unable to make itself so supplimenting is a good option. Flex seeds are also very good for you for this purpose, although the body is unable to extract nutrients from a whole…
  • actually only this morning I read an article which also contained the relations between Thyroid and Cholesterol... 4th point down in this article.. http://hypothyroidmom.com/the-thyroid-is-connected-to-so-many-parts-of-the-body/
  • Not able to meet up at the moment, but just wanted to let you know that London Free Ride is on 1st August. They are shutting lots of roads throughout London, including The Mall, St Pauls area etc, and it will be for cyclists only. There are various Cycling festival points too. I believe its 10miles worth of car/bus/taxi…
  • I'm a beginner to cycling too... hubby bought me a Hybrid but its more geared towards road than off road. He has a road bike, so we plan to cycle together. Signed up to the London FreeRide day in August, can't wait. I also run, so cycling for me is an added bonus... I will have nice looking legs before my holiday in April…
  • This is the belt http://www.amazon.co.uk/FlipBelt-Running-Belt-V1-1-Jet-Black-S/dp/B00JF9DZTK/ref=sr_1_1?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1433493129&sr=1-1&keywords=flip+belt
  • I've just bought a flip belt from Amazon and wow its amazing. Its a little pricey but its fab. Its basically a lycra tube with holes. Its fits snug to your body so doesn't move when you run. You slot phone, keys, cards, etc in through the holes (there is also a little clip to attached keys too), and then flip the whole…
  • Thanks everyone - Seen endo and he's advised me to take B12 1000 mcg of methylcobalamine with a retest in a months time. Vit D levels are very good. I've also had a slight adjustment to meds too
  • I don't have Hashis. I was overactive with Graves and had Total Thyroidectomy. My normal is higher end numbers, and they haven't changed much since February when I was feeling so much better than I do now.
  • I have had blood results and they are not that far out from normal, yet I feel the worst I have ever felt. At the moment I've been doing couch to 5k and today I managed the full 5k. I love running and do feel great doing it, though I proper crash when I'm done, both physically and mentally. Thanks for everyone's advice
  • I've been diagnoised with thyroid condition
  • Yes iron was tested and I was midrange. Can't remember numbers now. He's pretty good at testing everything that's required. Won't get a chance to speak to him till Thursday now, that's why I thought I'd see what others thought Thanks for advice everyone
  • Me and my friend at work Completed Week 8 Day 1 & 2 this week... we are so pleased and amazed we actually managed to keep running (although a little slow at times) for 28 minutes!!!
  • This is very interesting... i'm on Microgynon pill, and my T4 always shows in range but TSH is high... basically asking me for more thyroxine. That said I have no thyroid (TT in Aug 2013), so not sure how that would effect things.
  • I take my Thyroxine at least 2hrs after my last meal at night, as recommended by my endo. Its all very confusing
  • I completed Week 7 day 1 yesterday. I had a little 15 second pause after 12mins running, but I managed to do the rest without stopping. Hoping Thursday (Day 2) will be a better day. My main issue is breathing, but think i may need to slow down
  • I take mine as soon as I get into bed at night - as a rule I don't eat anything past two hours before bed which Endo said is fine for me. I found taking it at night helps me sleep better. I take T3 in the morning as soon as I wake up an hour before food.
  • I'm using NHS C25K app through work and we're on Week 5 - each of the 3 sessions this week are different. Today is day 2 and we have 2 8 min runs. Friday, 3rd session is 20min run, and then its back to alternating times again I'm heading out now with the group into Sunny London
  • Thanks for the help... will give it ago. Thankfully today seems a good day. I think I may try knocking the contraceptive pill on the head for a while... I don't think that is helping things at the moment.
  • I've been on Pill for past 15 years and only since taking Thyroxine have I had problems... will talk to Endo. GP I'm avoiding as we're in each others bad books at present
  • Thats fab!! I'm dreading that stage too. I'm totally hooked with running now and find I'm bored on my rest days
  • oh I've been on thyroxine and T3 since Aug 2013 and had the problem since then... levels are good and apart from this little issue I feel really good... escpecially since starting on T3. Also I can go without food and just drink water and it still happens. I see my endo every 2-3 months at the moment, so will bring it up…
  • Completed Week 5 day 1 yesterday and even managed an extra 3min run after a 2min walk. Also recieved my Half marathon confirmation through post yesterday - I'm so excited, and love a challenge and glad I have something to focus on... all beit 13.1 miles :#
  • I don't believe snacking has to be bad and I don't wish to have chocolate or crisp for the time being at least. I just wish to choose something that is a little healthier when I'm stuck in the office late rather than rubbish, but thank you for your help. Thank you Editorgrrl... I didn't realise thats how it worked. The…
  • Thank you for your help, will do that... and yes, I couldn't move when I realised it had stopped working. I love it too much... just hope it works again.
  • ok so looking over the days where I run for 30mins (I'm doing Couch 2 5k) i'm burning an average 650 calories - steps, running etc. So I guessing I can say I have my usual 1600 calories for the day, plus 650 calories for running/steps I would have got from FitBit Does that sound about right? How would I log those…
  • haven't called them yet. Someone on FitBit forum has told me how to reset it which I'll do when I get home as I don't have charging cable to do it. Fingers crossed all will be ok I got by my calorie allowance on MFP which is 1600 calories... obviously its not logging my steps like it would do normally. That said I have…
  • Week 4 completed, and I ran an extra 4 minutes on top of the last 5min run. Really pleased with myself... Now for week 5!!!
  • Oh they all sounds nice and tasty options. I thought about Graze box but I really don't like nuts and a lot of things seem to have them in.
  • Defiantly taking it slowly. Got enough time and a few different training plans to follow. I'm out of running at moment though... Yesterday work did a C25k strength and conditioning class, showing us different stretches etc to do after running and also exercises to do on rest days... My legs are possibly going to fall off…
  • I have a FitBit and set it to record an activity when I go for run. It then logs it through MFP. My average per run is approx 275 calories burnt per session
