  • Vanity motivates me, I suppose. As I've gotten older, I've realized I can't just eat what I want and do nothing, and keep that awesome bod, I have to work for it. So I go to the gym and bust my *kitten* in the squat rack, etc, so I can maintain the body that I want. Seeing the progress keeps me motivated to continue!
  • I have RA and fibro. I was also diagnosed young, at age 20. I was so severe I was told I'd be in a wheelchair by 25. I spent many years in pain and depression, went through countless meds as they all seemed to stop working after a year or so. I was doing IV infusions every 2 weeks in the oncology dept. and on the last meds…
  • I'm super new to weightlifting. I've been following Jamie Eason's Livefit program through bodybuilding.com and I'm only on day 9. I like that it gives me structure, I'm not just wandering around the gym lost, and it has video guides for proper form of each exercise. I use the app to track my workouts, and that alone keeps…
  • I upped my weight by 5-10 lbs on my reps today. It's leg day so it's easier, but I'm proud to be making tangible progress even if I can't really see it yet.
  • I disagree. You are encouraged to lift 60% of your max strength during the first 2 weeks and you are then eased into a longer, harder program as it continues. I am new to weight lifting and am doing very well with. There are exercise guides as well as videos to show you proper form. It's created for every fitness level.…
  • I'm a week into Jamie Eason's Livefit program. It's free on bodybuilding.com. It's great to have a plan of attack when going to the gym and I feel strong and sexy afterward, even though I'm still in the learning process. :-)
  • I just finished week one of Jaimie Eason's Livefit program. It's great to know what to do each day and have a plan of attack. She does add in some cardio in phase two, (I hate cardio!) but it's mainly focused on weights. I love it. I feel strong and sexy after my workout, and I'm pumped to keep going!
  • I like a blend of kale and spinich in place of lettuce for salads.
  • http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10025962/calories-and-macros-not-adding-up-heres-probably-why#latest I just read this in the stickies! Maybe this might help!
  • I'm fairly new at this, but aren't the Macros (in the pie graph) done by percentage? So if you're over in one, you should be under in another. If you have calories to spare, try to choose something that fits into your lower percentage macro. That should help even it out. If you're looking at the bar graph for nutrition…
  • ok, apparently, I have no idea how to add friends! So if you know how, please send me a request, because I can see how to accept them, just not how to send your own friend requests.. sigh..
  • I just started back up today. I'm doing to 90 day Bikini body mommy challenge again, after not working out since last summer, so needless to say, I need help getting back to it and maintaining my motivation! I''l send you all a request!
  • OMG! I'm 34 and I'm the same way. I guess it never bothered me too much, because I was always thin and could get away with it, but now that I'm more focused on health and training, I'm really upset about my ways. I've actually looked online to see if it classifies as some sort of disorder. I can't even "hide" veggies in…
  • I'm on day 23 of a 90 day bikini body mommy challange! I've already noticed small improvements and although there are days I really have to push to get my workout done, I keep telling myself it's worth it to look and feel better! I enjoy getting/giving encouragement so feel free to add me, as well!
  • It's a group HIIT class. Whenever I workout in a group I feel obligated to finish and push myself even when I want to give up. Or, if it's available to you, you could try it, get ideas, and so them on your own. I learned a lot from the Les Mills BodyPump class!
  • I'd say you need to look at what you're eating and drinking that could be causing the bloat and gradually remove it from your diet.
  • I've have hated myself, too, but it was only making me miserable. I decided I needed more. I needed to love myself. I needed to be happier and healthier. So I started to take steps toward a better attitude about my body and ways to improve it. First, you must change your mindset. Negativity gets you nowhere. Use your…
  • Hello. I'm definitely trying to get there for beach season. I wasn't overweight to start, just average. Im doing a bikini body challenge, and so far, I'm sore every day, but I feel like that's a good thing! Keep striving toward your goals, keep a positive attitude, and we will get there!
  • I've been doing the Bikini Body Mommy videos. She has them all listed on YouTube for free. She also has a few books you can buy ( if you want) and meal plans, complete with shopping lists and recipes, for $10 a month. What I love about it and keeps me going is that she wasn't some perfect bodied fitness guru when she…
  • I've also been doing the BBM workouts daily and it's frustrating because even if Iog in the individual exercises, it shows 0 calories burned, as they are mostly under "strength training" :s Even the High Intensity training has no proper option... I'm considering buying a heart rate moniter to give a better idea of calories…
  • I'm also a "Stepford Wife" :# staying positive is key! I took measurements the day is started ( only 1 week ago!) and will not look at the scale or re-measure again until 15 days out. This keeps me from feeling like I failed by not seeing any changes quickly, and it helps me to focus on how I feel. and I feel good! You
  • Hi Slim, I'm also new. I understand your feelings. This time last week I was crying about hating myself and after 6 days, I can see some great changes already, even if just in mindset! Commit, have a plan, and push yourself to do and be better and it will happen! I don't want to wish you "good luck" because it's not about…
