I'm glad my 12 year old son isn't the only one who's averse to soap! I yell into the bathroom every morning, "use soap! And shampoo! Wash EVERYTHING! Even your feet!!!" Otherwise, I can't bear to be near him...

Having done both, I prefer counting calories to points - they're scientifically "real", while points are a construct... I don't know- it mentally is more meaningful to me. Though, either one will work if you stick with it!

Yes - this is my mantra... Tracking is the tool I'm using to ensure that this happens...

The first time I ever had a conversation about my weight with the doctor was last year, when I had a new primary care physician (never any health issues at that point). However, I was the one to bring it up, not her… I said I was concerned about it, and was trying to lose weight. She very nicely asked if I wanted to see a…

Same here- measurements are useful, too - but then there's also that unquantifiable "feeling" of well-being, strength, health, slimming... All are good. You may not hit all 3 at once, though! I used to let a little fluctuation upward ruin my mood (and sometimes derail me) - but now, because I know that I'm making progress…

Me, too, by ~4lbs... I'll wait and see if I want to keep going when I get to healthy weight based on old BMI... I'm quite certain that those 4 lbs won't make or break my health.

It was a long time ago for me (11-12 years ago), but at 5'4" and a good 40 lbs overweight, I was at 1800 a day, and the weight melted off very quickly (I did some light walking, but nothing strenuous). With your activity level, I'd think you need more food! Try adding 100-200 and see how you feel, how your supply is, and…

At 5'4" with a large frame, I just want to be within a healthy BMI - that's 145. It's also a weight I've been before, and looked/felt good.

Eat meat, fish, eggs, Greek yogurt...
-
1200 for me - feel free to add me!

You look great! Your measurements are arguably even more important than your weight! Some lose more weight, others more inches/cm...
-
Unfortunately, she has to want to change... Sorry, I know that's not helpful, but it's true... Don't give up on her; maybe something you do or say will motivate her.

Starting "Monday" for me...

I've never been good at maintaining after losing. I think, great- I'm done! And then it comes back on, usually slowly at first, then it picks up some momentum (snowball rolling down a steep hill). So, after I reach my goal weight, I will need to keep counting/logging until I find my ideal maintenance intake... After that,…

I generally crave red meat and extra sleep; I indulge both!

I personally can't wait to strut around in my birthday suit with some pride! ;) In my own house, of course!!!

Forgot to add agreement with the other posters who suggest lifting- will help you tighten up, etc. - just don't let your dissatisfaction get in the way of acknowledging how far you've come already! :)
-
You're also probably being too hard on yourself- 44 lbs is a great loss- congrats!
-
Ouch- how awful! Scrambled eggs with cheese won't require chewing if you cut them up small enough...
-
Same here. Or save for the weekend, when it can be tougher to stay within normal allowance... Otherwise, I think of them as insurance against logging errors/inaccuracies.
-
Agree... Though if you start feeling sluggish, reevaluate!
-
Me, too. If I want an extra zing, I add a lemon or lime wedge... I used to live on diet coke, but it seems too sweet to me now...
-
Me, too. I write down my weight every day in a separate calendar (to observe trends, etc.), but only log new lows in MFP.
-
Been yo-yo-ing for more than 20 years - each high weight getting progressively higher, each loss becoming progressively more difficult... And if avoiding social situations and pictures wasn't bad enough, I started to experience some health issues for the first time (I'm 44). Even at points of obesity, my blood pressure and…

Lyndsey - I assume that's you in your profile pic?? If so, you look phenomenal- don't lose more weight! Sounds like your body is tired and begging you for a little rest. After that, keep doing what you're doing, but make sure you're refueling and giving yourself a rest day here and there. And, seriously, think about why…

Sushi is my go-to.

Yes, lifting will help your appearance as you lose, even if it doesn't technically spot reduce.
-
I personally have more energy when I'm eating more nutrient-rich foods- that helps me stay more active, thus increasing my CO.

Exercise for more calories to eat?

Keep in the yolks- much more protein & other goodies...
