Congrats! My baby is 13 years old now and 4 inches taller than me! I had gained 40 lbs in pregnancy (and was at the top of my healthy range to begin with), and although I was anxious to lose the weight, I didn't restrict at all in the beginning (6 months or so, while he was exclusively breastfed). Eat a healthy, well…

I sometimes just roll up meat (ham, turkey) & cheese with some Dijon in the middle- they can be packed in plastic wrap/bags or a storage container, etc. can put some lettuce, tomatoes, onions in the middle, too...

My favorite budget-friendly foods are chicken thighs (bone in, skin on) and potatoes... Fresh carrots, frozen vegetables, eggs... Shop the sales... And less of it!!!
-
Halved grape/cherry tomatoes, basil, milk (instead of water), Romano, topped with runnyish yolk over-easy egg, salt and pepper. Yum!

Hi - 5'3.5" and around 165-170 right now- have lost 20+ on MFP and have 20-25 to go... Have stalled a bit in July-August, but serious about getting back on track! Diary is open to friends- feel free to add me!

5'3.5" (usually round up to 5'4"!), started at 193, currently approximately 1/2 way to my goal of 140-145. Diary is open to friends. Feel free to add me!

Honestly, don't sweat it... If you have low calories once in a while, it doesn't matter- save them for the weekend or a time you actually are hungry. No need to force feed yourself unless it's a habitual "very low day" day after day.
-
I can look at myself naked in the mirror without wanting to scream in anguish.

Hi - 5'4" with similar goal weight. Started ~190 and have lost 20 already using MFP - feel free to add me!

2 scrambled eggs w/veggies (whatever I have around) and a little cheese. Oh, and black coffee. Today was w/tomato, onion, chives, & cheddar; yesterday was spinach & feta...

Make sure you have good footwear! My knees and ankles used start bothering me every year as weather warmed up, then I finally put 2 and 2 together- flip flops and other flimsy footwear can do a number on your joints!

Just because he prescribed it doesn't mean you have to take it... Sounds like you're doing well on your own without the pills. Keep up the great work and look for a new doc!!!

Glad I don't deal with any women/girls who whine. "I'm so fat so old so ugly" Please, add "boring" and "vapid" to your list...

It doesn't have to be all or nothing, either... I didn't feel well on very LC (below 50g), but my "sweet spot" seems to be ~75-100 during the week (fruit/veg/dairy mostly), and maybe a little more here and there on weekends (a few crackers w/cheese, or sushi) - nothing is forbidden to me, and that makes a difference to my…

What she said... I'm doing this, too. Plus, if you're able to exercise, you can "earn" some extra for hungry days or weekends (just be careful about eating them all back, as burns tend to be overestimated).

My husband is the only non-medical professional with whom I'll discuss my weight. No one has ever asked me, either... I once had an in-law ask how much I make. Again, something I only discuss with my husband. I hedged the question... Certain things are no one's business. And if someone asks a personal question that you'd…

Cup of coffee or tea - maybe a little snack...

Cereal makes hungrier than if I hadn't eaten at all... Eggs w/veggies and a bit of cheese holds me over quite well (~4 hours or so).
-
Also, exercise more likely gets neglected if you'd rather nap...

Mmmm & bloody steak, red bell peppers, tuna sashimi... ;) Edit: sheesh - how could I forget red wine?

It's especially heartbreaking to hear about kids and adolescents who have had to hear mean comments/insults from their own parents... Very damaging.

You can lose weight regardless of whether or not you exercise (though exercise helps). Log your food, eat at a deficit- you will lose weight. Good luck!
-
I eat 1200 nutrient-dense calories and have really kept things simple so that I have time to exercise almost daily (busy with work and family). Elaborate meals used to take up that time... I have lost 18 and have ~25 more to go. Feel free to add me- my diary is open to friends.

I got called "anorexic" by my HR manager, of all people, when I was mid-range BMI (5' 4" 127lbs). It actually is a bit thin for my frame, but, seriously? Edit: I've actually never been insulted for being obese or overweight (which I am still overweight currently...) - not to my face, anyway...

Stay hydrated Moisturize daily Eat plenty of dietary fat as you lose Exercise Good luck - you're young, you'll be fine- and as everyone else said, it's better to have some loose skin than to be obese!

I wouldn't get into the "vanity" with them... "Accuracy with recipes" is close enough. "Ensuring proper nutrition" is another good one. Or, you could just do what you've been doing to get to a healthy weight to begin with...
-
Honestly, I think this also depends on how hard/how much you work out, and also what your calorie allowance is to start with - also how tight your logging is... I only eat exercise calories back if I'm really hungry, or sometimes I "save" them for a weekend night out, or just figure that they may negate logging…

What everyone else said re: nutrition and sleep... Plus Have your son wash his hands (and face, preferably) when he gets home... Kids track in more germs than mud...
-
I find I'm hungrier when I eat refined carbs (bread, pasta, etc.). Filling up 1200 calories with protein, fat, and fruit/vegetable carbs keeps me satisfied and energetic... You may have to play around with different foods & meal/snack timings to see what works for you personally. I find exercise actually helps curb my…

Depends on activity level set and how hard you're working, and whether or not you are going to eat them back... I'm set at sedentary, so if I do 2 hours of hard core housework and then have no time for a "real" workout, I'll count it, manually set calories burned waaaay lower than MFP, and don't eat them back... But then,…
