I am going to try to start tomorrow. We have been doing five minutes of plank - which is torture (60 sec full plank, 30 Sec elbow plank, 30 Sec left side plank, 30 Sec right side plank, 30 Sec left leg up, 30 Sec right leg up, 30 Sec full plank, 60 Sec elbow plank - no rest in between. Ok - this sounds like a fun way to keep track, I'll go for 60k in May. Seems low but I'm just getting started running and I will be out sailing for the last week of the month. So hard to keep up my workouts when I am on the water.

Also, if your main goal is to loose weight, using a heart rate monitor can help you stay in the correct zone for max fat burning. Probably way less exertion than you think. Also, including some strength training will help you burn more fat. Throw in a couple of days of weights into your routine.

I agree not to go for the machines to build your abs. There are some machines you can use but way better to focus on compound movements to build core strength. Salads with some sort of protein. Keep the dressing separate until you are ready to eat it. Stays fresher that way. We have also been keeping a jar of almonds in the office for snacks. Cold cuts are a good afternoon snack also. Good luck!
