I'm intrigued by the statement about the measuring cups being a poor form of gauging. Why? This is the internet, thus this disclaimer lol: I am not disagreeing...I am seeking information and clarification. Thanks! Brandon

He's right. I'm sorry, but that's all there is to it. I ended up having to measure everything. I was 'guestimating' and I was off by about 1000 calories a day.

Hey there! Measure your food accurately. Repeat that phrase until it gets stuck! Don't guestimate. Measure. You'll be surprised.

I'm currently in the fat loss part and I'm crafting a muscle building program to use in a couple months. Good luck, Adam. Brandon

I drink regularly. I prefer bourbon but it's absolutely packed with calories. My typical evening of drinking, just relaxing at the house, comes to 12 ounces. I literally pour the booze into a measuring cup, then into my glass so I know it's accurately measured. (I hit a 'plateau' and thought, "What gives?" I wasn't logging…

You need to make sure to check in with all of us regularly... Everyone loves a good success story, and yours is going to be one! I believe in you. Brandon

I read your Title too fast and thought, "Me, too," only my issue is bourbon. FAR more calories than Coca Cola! Hey, does the store you shop at offer the smaller cans? I went to my mother's for Easter and she had little 8-ounce cans for the children instead of the regular 12-ounce size. Maybe that will help you cut down, I…

I hit a plateau at 261. For a week. I was down about 25 pounds. What? I'm still working out and logging in to MFP...what gives? Then I started measuring my foods, and I was underestimating my intake by A LOT. One day I was off by 1000 [ONE THOUSAND] calories! The place I recommend you begin is by closely monitoring what…

You mean...some people do that???

I saw that e-mail and it worked for me because it's impossible for someone to make up a story like that on the internet.
-
lol, I'm sorry!

I was scared that I'd read the comments and find a bunch of woo-woo pushers and and anti-science folks but that's not the case! Man, I am glad to see these replies. I'm sorry, but lying to people and purposefully misleading means you are not a nice person. If you use kind words and a gentle voice to trick me, it kinda…

I just popped in because I have Crohn's. Gonna pop back out now :p

I get down and out sometimes, too. We probably all do. The fact that you looked for and found a tool to help you get healthier is a very good sign. Action makes me feel better. Not necessarily working out, but action as in taking steps. Getting MyFitnessPal, monitoring your calories, making a plan, learning about your body…

Jo, don't threaten me with a good time!

Absolutely!

Jo, don't you worry, you and I are going dancing Saturday night!

Jo seems too wild for me...

Hello yourself ;)

Where does Mario live? Cause Bowser has a castle. And we don't KNOW Bowser is domineering...maybe he's just enthusiastic and offers a good salary.
-
Well I say 9.5
-
lol...Mario's 'girlfriend' is constantly at Bowser's house... At some point she's not being kidnapped.

I'm going to just have to switch over to using pictures.

Yes, it definitely can exacerbate an individual's shyness. I've seen a woman tell a man who had asked her to dance, "No. You're too short. Go away." I was actually at this club with the girl (not as a couple) and I told the guy, "Hey, don't take that too hard. I promise, it's not you."
-
amyrebeccah, you're still doing it. I am trying to not sound like I am talking to a child, but every time I make a comment it's got to be further boiled down and dissected. "The sky is blue." "That's really a demonstration of your position that you can call the sky blue. Sometimes it's red." Sweet mercy. Yes, there will be…

Absolutely. I've been on the receiving end and seen it happen to others. And it sucks but you can't take it personally. Hey, at least she let's you know straight away.
