It may be setting your daily goal at 1200 calories per day because you selected to lose 2 pounds per week.

Maybe it's got something to do with converting from the metric system?

It's just some kind of shorthand people use that means muscle is more dense than fat. I wouldn't get too upset about it. Now, folks constantly using LOOSE when they mean LOSE...THAT'S INFURIATING!!!

Maybe they're like Drew Barrymore from 50 First Dates and they can't remember anything the next day, so they have to record it all. Besides, who needs actual memories when you have a shaky, poorly-lit, tinny-sounding video that you can watch on a four-inch screen???

Raw milk is the riskiest of all foods? I believe that honor goes to my potato salad.

I always enjoy seeing someone decide to make a positive change!

No recipes to add, but I bought my brother a dehydrator for his birthday and he's enjoyed making jerky. The dehydrator also makes pretty good dried fruit and vegetables.
-
That makes two of us  Are you trying to make yourself feel fuller by having milk with your meals?

My former girlfriend didn't appreciate my cheat days, despite my best arguments...

Ten pounds in four days is impressive! Let's do the math... If you consider a 2,000 calorie-per-day allowance to maintain, that means 8,000 calories over four days would not cause any change. Most sources claim a pound of fat requires 3,500 calories, so you would have had to have consumed (3,500 x 10) + 8,000, or 43,000…

On more than one occasion I have hidden two or more of those Chik-fil-a breakfast bites in my pants pocket. Ok, this was actually to hide the fact that I was stealing. Stealing then pigging out.

Woah woah woah...let's put that to the mathematical test... If: 1 glass of red wine = 1 hour in the gym, Then: 1 hour in the gym = 1 glass of red wine This is not true at all...the wine is exponentially more fun than the gym!!!

I really appreciate your words, Raina.

Some dusty old book I read long ago said that in the old days, love was more of a verb than a noun. It was something you did...it was more about your actions and choices than it was a feeling. It said that the old timers chose to love, and the feeling of love was the result. Anyway, we may as well be talking about particle…

I have literally pretended to read from a blank slip of paper so the cashier at a fast food restaurant would think I was ordering for multiple people.

Y'all need to stop talking about pizza and pork with rice. Don't you know some of us are susceptible to temptation???

I'm glad you're seeing success and feeling motivated! Pay attention to how you're feeling and don't be ashamed to make adjustments to your plan if it's necessary. Best of luck to you!

I stopped having breakfast to make room in the old calorie budget for alcohol. For me, it's not that much of a sacrifice. Like the others have said, you can drink alcoholic beverages and still lose weight as long as you're in a calorie deficit. If drinking makes you throw your weight loss goals out the window, then you'll…

Not familiar with the GNC pills you mentioned, although I used a prescription appetite suppressant last year for eight months or so and lost close to 90 pounds. I would not have been able to lose that much weight without it. Does that indicate a character flaw? A lack of moral fiber? A personal weakness and failing? Maybe…

I'm glad you're eating better and exercising. It looks like you're getting excited about things and feeling motivated. The best piece of advice I can give you is to be honest with yourself about your situation. Several people have concerns about your calorie deficit being too severe. That is definitely something to be…

Just try different brands and meals---there's a lot of variety. Ultimately, it's just up to your own preferences. There are lots of foods besides the TV dinners that also only require a microwave. I enjoy the Green Giant Steamers vegetables that are 'lightly sauced' with the microwave rice packets from Uncle Ben's. (If…

Man... I really wish eating a muffin was all I had to feel guilty and ashamed about. Gonna go beat myself for a while...

A lot of folks adding advice. That's good to see. Someone did say that every time they've hit a 'plateau' it's been because they were eating more than they thought they were. This was my experience as well. Keep monitoring your calories, stay on your goals, be honest with yourself. You'll get it.

Just finished reading the post and all the comments and one thing is definitely clear... I'm way more cynical than I'd realized!
-
That's something to be excited about!

Does this include people you met outside MFP who happen to be members or only the ones you met through MFP?

Once upon a time we were falling in love, now we're only falling apart :(

Hey. Sorry for killin' the thread.

That's what my mind's always tellin' me :|
