  • The first few weeks of any change are going to be difficult. You need to choose a way you want to go about loosing weight or becoming healthier and find the motivation. It all comes down to you. What's worked for me has been logging all my food, especially prelogging the night before so I don't have excuses the next day. I…
  • Somedays yogurt (I normally do the 100 cal yoplait Greeks or Greek whips) or Luna bars do the trick for me. Yasso ice cream bars are my current go for when I want ice cream (they can be pricey, but 100 cal a bar works for me! ) I also normally have individual dove chocolates that come in around 40 calories a piece for days…
  • http://deliciousbydre.com/healthy-buffalo-chicken-dip/ That's one of my favorites for things like the Super Bowl. Still super creamy but not as heavy as the traditional versions of buffalo chicken dip.
  • I have similar issues - I work retail hours that change constantly. Working out at home is what works best for me. There's tons of YouTube workouts that don't require equipment and other routines and ideas online. If you like the gym go on the weekends/when you can. Figure out what works best with your schedule.
  • While fasting works for some, I've had too many people tell me to not eat after a certain time of day. I had someone go on and on about how they lost 20lbs not eating after 5. Of course! You were eating less! And as people around me started to notice I'm loosing, they ask what diet (paleo, no carb, etc, etc) I'm doing…
  • I tend to drink a lot more if i add some flavor. Sliced lemon and cucumber are great. Fruit infused water is all the rage. But to save time cutting fruit, I will do crystal light packs and other "water enhancers" ( they do make some with caffeine too). It helped get me to a point where I'm drinking more plain old water…
  • Congrats on your success so far. That's so great! Thanks for the friend request.
  • Good luck! You can definitely do this.
  • I can completely relate. I had the same kind of wake up call a few months ago and I'm so glad I got on track with MFP. Good luck as you start this journey!
  • I would! Anyone can feel free to add me.
  • I have about 60lbs left to loose. I just sent a friend request!
  • I'll take a long walk if I can. I also find working with my hands helps, crafting, knitting, or adult coloring books. Coloring felt silly at first but it definitely relaxes me and helps destress from the day. And I don't know about anyone else, but I've found that now that eat less and more healthy foods and drink a lot…
  • I'll need to check some of these out. I looked up a few and they sound great! I'm just finishing the first in the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. Has anyone made their way through these?
  • I've been at it for close to 3 weeks - it's amazing how quickly your body reacts to new habits. I feel so much better, body and mind. That's a big motivator to keep at it for sure!
  • Feel free to add! I'm working to lose 75lbs. The more support from people working toward similar goals the better!
  • I've tried to loose weight and eat healthier many times before as well. I'm only about 20 days into using this app, but the community of support with people all working to similar goals has really kept me motivated. Feel free to add me!
  • Congrats! sounds like you're doing amazing! Sending a friend request.
  • I've only been here 20 days, but I've found taking time each morning to remind myself why I'm doing this helps makes the rest of the day easier. And as the days go on I find I'm making better choices. Eating veggies and lean meat, and other "healthy" foods for the most part keep me more satisfied and full then a small…
  • I've made this a few times and love it. It makes a ton of food, but it's really quick and easy to make. http://pinchofyum.com/easy-red-lentil-dhal
  • Hey! I'm 25. I'm already out of school, but working a retail shift schedule as a supervisor has me busy and isn't great for keeping any sort of workout/healthy schedule. But I'm finding a way to keep at it! I'm looking to lose 75 pounds as well. Fee free to add me.
  • Such a good list! The cocktail history books sounds really interesting. My husband and I love to experiment with cocktails - make our own flavored simple syrups and bitters to play around with.
  • I've never thought about audio books while walking. That's such a good idea. I normally listen to a ton of podcasts while I commute and walk around but a book would be so much better. I read An Untamed State by Roxane Gay not that long ago and loved it. I've been meaning to pick up Bad Feminist!
  • I read just about anything, but mostly fiction. I love novels about dystopian societies and things with a twist of magical realism. I just started Margaret Atwood's "Oryx and Crake". I'm aiming to log my food everyday and do some sort of physical activity. It's so hard not to cuddle up with a book! It's nice to "meet"…
  • Hi! I'm a huge reader and would also love support from literature minded folks.
  • Don't beat yourself up! Think about wether you'd be happy if you never ever ate sweets and treats. I know I wouldn't be. Its is all about moderation right? - and I think as some smart women that have already posted have said, being smart about those "splurges" if your attempting to lose weight, and working them into daily…
