You know, it has been awhile since I actually tried to limit what I’m eating. This is so hard for me. I work with people who have other types of addictions (alcohol, drugs, sex, work) and this is just as hard. What will happen if I don’t eat when I’m not physically hungry. That’s the thing I’m going to be curious about.

Thank you!

Thanks so much. Sounds challenging to live with a parent and in a different place!

I have been doing A daily plan and it is helpful. I plan out my food in the morning and put it in my diary prior to starting my day. I don’t hold myself exclusively to it, but I try to at least stay within the calorie range or with in the macro category. I’m trying not to shame myself for changes because the freedom to…

Hi! I’m dealing with food addiction. I lost 40lbs going off sugar and flour, then hit a wall and gained it all back. I’m unsure of whether I just need to accept that what I was doing worked and accept that will be lifelong, or if I can go a more moderate and intuitive way. Either way, I would love friends who know the…

I’d love to join!

I just started it kinda by accident. But I think it’s helpful so far. I am eating 1400 per day (or trying...). I’m in

Hello people - I would love to connect with other OA mfp people. Please connect with me!!

I've been in OA for the last 6 months. The way I see the "powerless" thing is that when I start eating some food I cannot stop, and I could not stop from starting up again. It isn't about the food, it's about my behaviors with the food. That's just how I make sense of it. Beyond that, it really is a spiritual program -…

I've been on OA since Sept 2016. It's been great for me. I started with a 5 day food addiction program using the 12 steps. I was very skeptical but I see now that food wasn't the problem, it's my solution to my problem. So the steps to deal with life helps with wanting to deal with life with food. I listen to a morning big…

Hi - I'm Susan. Just starting to go to OA. I have been overweight my whole life but swore I'd never go on diets after being put on them a lot as a kid. I did that for 30 years and am finally starting to soften to the idea that I need help. I have been logging for the last 1.5 yrs, lost 30lbs, then gained it back and here I…

Two sizes smaller in pants!! YAY!!

I am 5.0. I would like to get to 150 as my second goal. I started at 209 and am currently at 185. 179 is my first goal and I'm pretty close, but have stalled. It's pretty discouraging to hit a wall - but I'm still trying!

I'm in!

Add me!

Hi! My first goal is 30lbs and I'm stuck at 16. I have much more after that but am starting smaller. I would love some support too and happy to support others. Feel free to add me!

You can add me - I eat most things though - some which you don't... Feel free to look for ideas though.

I also like to cube sweet potatoes to be approx the same size as halved Brussel sprouts, roast them both together on a rimmed sheet pan with olive oil, salt, and pepper at 450• for about 20 min or until tender. Feat with roasted chicken or turkey.

White balsamic vinegar is really good too. It's sweeter so no need for sugar.

I love Aldi.for produce!! It is so inexpensive and they even have organic. Once I got over the rented cart thing - I love that place!

I have that too but am very against cutting whole groups out. I have lost 13lbs so far just doing deficit. I'm at 40% carbs, 30% protein and fats. I did cut od own on white foods - bread, pasta, sugar - but that's just cuz of my own habits of overeating those. Did a professional tell you gluten free?? I've never heard that.

I roast veggies a lot. I cut up cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, sweet potatoes, and/or Brussel sprouts, pour a little oil oil or coconut oil over (or spray lightly), add salt and pepper, and throw into a hot (450f) oven until lightly charred. DELISH!! I just eat these on a salad with grilled or roasted meat (steak, chix,…

And you get to be human! Sometimes we go overboard, sometimes under. Let yourself be human within perameters. Also... You have a lot on your plate (pardon the pun ☺️)... Might you need to take care of you more so you have more to give? I always think of the flt attendant instructions of putting on your own oxygen mask…

Have you ever read Geneen Roth's books? "When Food is Love" is really good. Sometime we just aren't ready for a change yet, but sometimes understanding that you are just trying any way you can to nurture yourself is helpful. We just need to find different ways to take care of ourselves. Still trying to learn this myself!

I like to eat half a baked or microwaved sweet potato with dinner, then eat the other half mashed with toasted coconut and pecans and a little milk and a pinch of salt for dessert. Yum!!!

I am!! Just started too - about a month ago. I'm starting with a 25lb goal but I need about 75 off. Big goal!! Need to take it in pieces.

I just started using "Virtuagym" app for iPhone. I love it. It has workouts for people with no equipment and walks u thru them.

I started at 209 and am now at 201 after ~1 month. I'm 5"0 and 49. I'm going for self care and weight loss. I want to be able to buy clothes in a regular store in regular sizes. That would be lovely. Any support and encouragement would be so great!
