Wife has been pescatarian for nearly 20 years..she does eat eggs ad drink milk. And vegan cheese sucks...but I'm not a fan of replacement/simulated foods

Why do you think protein is low? As for options - the obvious like tofu, legumes etc....there is also the vega products.

So many different flavours.... Love bitter teas like a Kenyan tinderent, or earthy aged puer, or smokey lapsing suchong, or fruity like teavabas dragon fruit devotion. To say all tastes the same is like saying all meat tastes the same....

Sushi is not high in calories... Now, some of the fusion type rolls that include deep fried or mayo sauces...well sure. But simple nigiri is great for you. I still have it regularly.

Don't need oil if up using non stick or a proper seasoned cast iron or carbon steel wok.

If you are adding cheese to a salad for flavour, then why not get a block of a hard cheese like a pecorino (our farmers market had a blue parmesan style cheese). Using a cheese plane you will get airy light shreds...you be surprised how much can be added for a little weight. Plus the hard ago cheese has tons of flavour.

No question for me...a good beer (IPA, preferably double hopped and unfiltered or a stout) vs ice cream. Now if you are offering a craptastic bet lie Budweiser, Canadian or Coors hen definitely the ice cream.

I know they have more fat, but I will do this with he thighs. Just fry in a non stick pan with a little salt. Perfect to add to salads or just as part of a quick meal...that being said I only do this for a few days as I cook 6-12 at a time a few times a week.

Raw chicken was the hardest to eat mentally...had o overcome 30 years of programming hat raw chicken will make you sick. That being said I'd still only at raw chicken at a reputable yakitori place in Japan. Fish and Beef are given...horse and elk were good too....

Weigh how you want just record as such... For me 100g is a lunch, 150-200 is a dinner Unless it is Swiss Chalet rotisserie, I almost always eat thighs vs breasts.

Definitely witnessed a lot of westernization in the big cities. KFC is everywhere....though they do alter the menu for local taste and e pectations. Even the Pizza Hut in Changdu we passed looked more like an upscale restaurant.

You can add me.. I am not a vegan or vegetarian, but I'd argue I love fruits and vegetables more than most vegetarians! My wife is pescatarian (fish probably once or twice a week) otherwise lacto-ovo vegetarian so I cook a good amount of vegetarian. Don't find it a challenge as I don't see the need to add meat to veggies…

Really not an issue...even for potatoes. Most people are not going to eat potatoes that have sprouted...or the leaves. Same with rhubarb. As a rule there isn't an issue with raw veggies. Now, of course there are exceptions. Some mushrooms will kill you, some fruits and vegetables can affect people with certain conditions…

Mapo tofu is tofu that is literally drowning in chilli oil and topped with fatty ground pork....not necessarily the healthiest meal

Just boil it in excess of salted water...drain, leave in strainer and cover and let steam for a few minutes...piece of cake.
