There are so many factors that determine what is right for you. I aim for 4 or 5 days a week. Each day has 30-35 minutes of weights followed by 3-4K run on the treadmill (working up to 5k). For the weights I do one major lift a day at most: bench, squat or press, deadlift. There are a complementary exercises as well. Now,…

We have always tended to travel to cities and locales that allow us to eat local cuisine...really food is never an issue...plus we get a lot of walking. Now, trips had been to Europe, China, Bali, Australia, Bahamas, so it was easy to find healthy food. Hawaii wasn't an issue either. Orlando was probably the hardest...but…

Do you need one? I don't. In fact, it is the one kitchen tool I have no interest in using...ever. There is nothing that I want to cook where it would be a benefit. Now, an instant pot (or pressure cooker)...use it all the time. Use it at least 3 times a week for soups and rice.

I do every time I go to the gym: 30 minutes strength and then 20-30 minute run. Strength still increasing. Cardio fitness improving. Want to reach the 1000 lb club and comfortably run a 5k this upcoming year. This is kind of mid life crisis :-)

Egg white, cheese in a tortilla...one of my standard breakfasts.

For the first 45 years of my life I was a night owl. More than happy to be awake at 2am. Mornings were my sworn enemy. I used to go to the gym 9pm after I put kids to sleep. About 6 mi the ago, i found that with this routine I wasn't seeing the kids enough, I had trouble sleeping as I was wound up from the gym....so I…

We have a newer Philips version. Use it all the time. For me, it is perfect for cooking 1-3 bone in chicken breasts (could do more if using 2nd tray). No need to preheat. 15-20 minutes you have a perfectly baked chicken breast. For the kids, I can do chicken, any of the coated products like chicken strips--can cook 12 of…

Still increasing on my stronglifts program. Todays increase put me at 345 for 5 reps on the deadlift (probably had a few more reps in me as well). Me: 45, 225lbs (target 200), 6'

Yes you can...but it isn't easy.

I don't have large hands...probably some would consider small for my frame. I don't use straps or gloves (or a belt). Still adding 5lbs or so a week--last week was 5x335lbs. I find that my hands are getting slippery now, so will start with chalk.

It is bad for me and my family (at least my genetic lineage). Cow Milk Protein Intolerance. Not fun. I always found that I didn't like milk. Never would drink it as a kid or an adult. With my first son, when he started eating food--especially cheese and milk (at 6 months), we found he was regularly having extreme…

There are countless great recipes...to many to throw across in a forum. While I do eat meat, my wife is Pescatarian and more than 2/3's of all the meals I cook for the family are vegetarian or vegan. Favourite cook books: Oh She Glows and Even More oh She Glows - great recipes and many fusion flavours. Moosewood Cookbook…

I go alone. Don't want to talk to anyone. My motivation is driven through my app (Stong) and personal goals.

While I love Salmon/Trout/Char done simply - Salt, Herbs, broiled for about 10 minutes. Always done to perfection. Yesterday served with a sorrel caper sauce...but you said, not salmon. While the same family you get so many variations...each is different in consistency and taste (and fat content). Will do salmon on cedar…

Taken 6 weeks but now part of my routine...and it was a change...I was a night owl. Now I get up 515 and am at the gym by 530. Back home by 7. Make kids breakfast, lunches and drop them off on way to work. I did ding my lifts dropped 10 percent. Same with reps.

salt and either butter (more steamed and finished in a pan) or olive oil (more grilled) Of course, it is a bonus if you get the leaves too...cook them the same way. They are great.

Go buy the following cookbooks Oh She Glows...the second one is titles something similar...maybe "more" etc Moosewood cookbook Now we also throw in various Indian, Thai, Chinese (especially Sichuan)....lots of options. Recently just made a great Trini style corn soup, Bahamian Mac and Cheese, baked yucca, Plantain,…

Of course. Never understood the notion that Eggs etc were a "breakfast food". Been all around Europe and Asia and Eggs are routinely found on menus throughout the day. Porridge is just another well cooked grain...no different than a congee really...or a real mushy risotto.

Learn to cook with high heat and a short amount of time. Pull off the grill a bit early and let it finish with residual heat. I won't bother brining most chicken, though sometimes I do as it allows me to be "lazy". With chicken and pork, I still like to have it a bit pink.

Countless great recipes in any number of cookbooks. Tonight I made a couple of vegan curries/stews. First was a golden lentil stew that is thickened with puréed cashews. Second, since I had the cashews, I made a mild (so kids would eat it) curry with ground cashews, veggies, coconut milk and the aromatics (fish sauce,…

Also a lot of chicken...if I roll on breadcrumbs or wings. For me another great feature is minimal mess...and dishwasher safe.
