callisthenics - thats generally what I put it down as.

Are you eating red meat? My friend's period disappeared and the doctor advised its was because her iron was low from only eating chicken. I would go to the doctors and gets your blood checked.

In the beginning I was a good girl through the week and 'cheated' on the weekend. It worked for me for a while but when I got to the pointy end I needed to be more strict. I now factor in my splurges though banking cals or doing extra exercise. I have also moved away from the term 'cheat'. As stef said, it had negative…

What worked for me was: 1. Maintain a reasonable cal deficit (300-500cal a day). 2. Record EVERYTHING and learn how to record accurately 3. Learn to Cook. 4. Inform myself about what I was eating - this included research into how we process foods, what is in what we eat etc 5. Exercise. (Distant last - this is mostly…

Actually they don't really eat that little. They only eat small meals but they eat about 5-6 meals a day.
-
Processing it makes it easier to digest. And yes, cooking your food is processing it. I am not saying its not 'clean' just that the more processed something is (including peeling) the easier it is for your body to break down and get nutrients from.
-
People who eat 'some' processed food can be healthy for sure. People who eat only highly processed foods will likely be missing out on essential nutrients and probably taking in alot of things in higher quantities than they should like salts and fats. Its a different story because weightloss and health are not synonymous.…

Hi Guys, sorry if I missed this being mentioned in the slew of acronyms but, from my understanding, the reason why 'clean' eating tends to result in better results than 'processed' eating is to do with how the food is metabolised. Exhibit A - Raw carrot - 120cal (clean example) Exhibit B - Cooked and mashed carrot - 120cal…

To add on to the above, MFP has calculated how many calories you need to eat a day to loose weight. So, to maintain you might need 2200cal a day. To loose weight you need to eat less than that so MFL calculate into your net calories a deficit of 500cal (depending on your weightloss goals). So the number in your diary to…

I have noticed that carbs don't keep me full as long as others. Cals in and cals out works but lowering the carbs helps curb the cravings. I personally am not on low carb but I don't regularly eat bread and most of my dinners are meat and veg rather than pasta or rice based. Try different things and don't get discouraged…

My friend got banding done. Her hair fell out alot even though she was on vitamins etc. Double check with your doc to confirm though. Might be something else. Or it could be nothing. Some times I feel like I am moulting alot but actually no real change

there is your answer. I would wait a week and see what happens. As everyone else is indicating, fluctuations are normal, its the overall trend you are looking for
-
What do you want to achieve? weight loss or weight gain? I am confused. Bodies fluctuate week to week and day to day depending on so many things. You need to be consistent with something for at least 4 weeks to see if it is working or not. Eating more and lifting will naturally result in small weight gains due to more food…

I agree, its not cheating. Cheating implies you are doing something for nothing and you certainly are working for those extra drinkies. I do this (I call it banking cals) but only for special occasions. Exercise is not exact on how many calories you have burnt so you might be considerably over estimating your exercise and…

Stand right there infront of her and look impatient! lol To be honest, I don't use gym equipment by myself anymore so its not really a problem. The one thing I find the worst is people who don't wipe down the equipment. I have to breath in your sweaty air, I don't want to sit in it too.

I am not really sure why people think that burning 1000kcal a day is impossible. When I first started running, my HRM said I burned 550cal in 35minutes. I think you should try different things and find out what works best for you. Whether that includes not eating them back, eating some back or eating all of them back.

My OH brought home two little tubs of mousse for dessert. Ate it then checked cals. 500cal for 250g of mousse. Thats half my day right there! The lesson is to log/look before eating. Also, I can eat pasta till the cows come home. 100grams is a whopping 360kcal. Lucky I love pasta so much I don't need a sauce meat or cheese…

Hope has nothing to do with weight loss. Dedication, consistency and being honest with yourself is what gets you there :) The best thing about MFP is that there are alot of people here and it is very likely that someone has had the same issues as you with weight loss. You're not alone :) You can do it!

You need to look at what you are eating as well as how much. Some foods fill me up while others make me hungry again within the hour. To be honest, I think you might need to see a doctor for your mental health. Binge eating is something alot of people do but it sounds like you are going that step further than most and its…

Cravings are not really anything to do with hunger most of the time so the diet pill wont stop you drinking coffee or wanting that tastey tastey drumstick. Also, don't forget that thirst is often confused with hunger so make sure you are drinking enough. You have to set yourself up to succeed. If you are keeping ice cream…

I ended up buying different pants for different things. My best pants are cheapies while my most annoying ones are LuLuLemon. You just have to shop around alot until you find the right ones for your body unfortunately.

Exercise. I KNOW I am going to overeat on the weekend so I do crossfit Friday arvo and Saturday morning. If I am really over I go and do other exercise on Sunday. Also if you are eating out of boredom, log before eating. Often that little reminder of what you are doing is enough to stop the hand to mouth.
-
I have to be VERY busy to not think about food. Saying go exercise isn't the most helpful thing, especially when your tied to the work desk with a boring report to write or you are winding down for the night. I find not keeping snacks around at all helps and if I do want a snack I have to 'work' for it - eg go and get it…

I have lost 36kg (80pounds) and I have bad loose skin around my middle. Whether or not you get loose skin depends on how long you have been overweight, where you carry your weight and genetics. My skin is pretty ruined. I have stretch marks all over and it is very mobile. But you know what? The only people who see it are…

My 2c, be careful under eating because you will screw with you BMR meaning you will have to eateven less to loose weight
-
Hi Eddy, it is generally recommended that a loss of 500g-1kg or 1-2 pounds a week is a sustainable way to loose weight. This is because of how we burn body fat vs muscle. Essentially if you eat too few calories your body will panic (starvation mode) and burn muscle which is the easiest way for it to access energy. To burn…

Yes you can be very thin. Anyone can be very thin. But your physical size in diameter will be limited by your bones at some stage.

Logging things before you eat them is definitely the way to go. If I don't, I will eat the whole thing and look back with regret, but if I log 1 serving of chocolate, I only eat 1 serving because thats all I can factor into my diet. On my weaker days I buy something and have my one serving then throw the rest away. I also…

My confession is I waste so much food. I make guilty purchases, take a couple of bites and then in a fit chuck it in the bin (and it has to be an outside bin). I cannot just have a couple of bites and save it for later.
