This^^^^ Unfortunately weight loss/gain is not linear and I experienced the same thing. You cut, workout and drop weight and eventually your body is smart enough to catch up and you create a new setpoint, or maintenance level. If you are not losing, 4legs is correct, CICO is not equaling a deficit and you need to make sure…

I eat chicken, Tuna, pork is very lean, egg whites. If you like peanut butter, i use the Jif Whips, they have less fat. Of course you can always have protein powder which will typically have very little carbs and fat and about 24-26g of protein.

At 1200 calories what kind of deficit are you running? Cutting too fast will make you plateau so you want to try to cut calories slowly (2-3% each week). We all want the fast weight loss (including me) and I've done the extreme cutting probably 5-6 times in the last 10 years and everytime the weight comes back, the last 2…

I think the key here is adherence, personally for me I could not do a 5:2 but it may work great for you. There is no harm in trying it to see if it fits your lifestyle. If it does, great, if it does not, try something different. I dont know how often you are eating but if you are eating 6-8 small meals a day then maybe a…

Great Job, impressive! Keep it up.

Agreed, and they are really inexpensive.

I would caution you not to attempt to lose as much weight as fast as possible that will require you to drop calories too quickly, your body will eventually adjust to the few calories and that will be your new metabolic set point. Inevitably you will not be able to sustain a super low calorie diet (Woman this generally is…

SRS...ha...you need to learn to not take things so literally, I was merely making a point that depending on who you ask they will have different opinions on different foods. And by the way, while this may not be the view point of all vegans, the loudest ones absolutely do take this position. So again, it depends on who you…

one other thing, mix up how you make the chicken, sometimes i bake it and that gets old, other times i put it in the Crock pot with some chicken stock and put it in a wrap or something so its a little more variety than just boring grilled chicken.
-
It depends on who you ask regarding chicken being healthy. Vegans will say the animal protein will kill you but I tend to think the leaner, non processed cuts are just fine. Things like skinless chicken breast, Ground Turkey and Pork is also a very lean protein.

I agree 100%...I echo these suggestions. If you know you are going out Saturday night for dinner, try to eat a little less during the day and then look online at the menu beforehand and try to pick the healthiest selection you can make that still fits in your daily allotment for fats, proteins and carbs. Can't stress…

It was something I came up with after doing a little research, its not a set protocol.

I hit each bodypart 2X per week ( I bench 2X, Squat on 1 leg day and Deads on the other leg day) For the bench i will have a high rep 12-15 and a moderate rep day of 6-8. Squats and deads I will rotate, Squats will be volume and deads will be moderate and then the next week reverse it.
-
Haha...yes! I can relate to this...had to get it resized! Congrats!
-
This is helpful. In terms of the lifting I am trying to mix higher volume days with heavier days, in the cutting phase would you be more likely to have more heavier lifting days as opposed to volume days?

I do not track sugars from fruits but i do watch my refine sugar intake, if you are getting most of your sugar from Fruits, I would not worry about it.

They have a very similar macro profile so I would eat whichever one you like!

This is the great question, what is your current deficit? The worst thing you can do is cut too much too fast because eventually your body will adjust and you will not be able to cut anymore. Its okay to lose slowly, it will be much better for your body composition and your metabolism. In terms of the macros, the protein…

Agreed, roasted or grilled chicken, I always ask if they can not cook it with butter. Depending on the restaurant they may or may not do it but i always ask.

That looks amazing...recipe???

Nubreed is very good, Cin. french toast and i like the Allmax Chocolate peanut butter.

There might be some debate on the TEF numbers of protein but 100% helps with satiety and metabolism.
-
OP that is super interesting, I have never thought about it in that way.
-
No arguments, my apologies OP, I think I did misunderstand what you were asking. To try to answer, I think if its fits your macro goals and you are still in a deficit, then I would not be too concerned with it.
-
All very fair points.

Ok, first off, I was not calling her out. I was simply responding to her comment with my opinion. Second, my assumption was based on people who look to live a healthy lifestyle (like most people using MFP and are on these boards). If you look at most americans, they are not tracking anything, they are not going to the gym,…

I 100% agree, and as per my last comment, taking a multi and getting fiber you along with hitting your other macros you will be default hit most of those micronutrients. I only focus on Protein, Carbs, Fat and Fiber. If those are hit then I dont worry about the other nutrients because I will have hit them or have come very…
