Yes! I use the meals function right now to do this, (a meal of all the chicken entries I use, the summer produce entries, the beef entries, grains, etc) in smaller blocks, but then I have to enter a bunch of items and delete the unwanted ones when I need to use one of them. Your idea of a saved list would be much easier.

Be patient, and be willing to do something different this go-round, if you want it to be a life-long change. Quick changes tend to come and go. Life-long habit changes stick around and create long-standing weight and health changes. Weight will fluctuate, especially for women. Weighing daily can help you see those changes,…

Your body is telling you the answer, listen in. Skipping breakfast and a light lunch isn’t enough fuel to make it to dinner time. You need more food earlier in the day.

It’s different on different platforms. On the iOS app, I swipe left to delete a food from the recent list, and I can’t find a way to delete several at once. I think others can press and hold, or maybe right click, and there may be little pencil symbols or ellipses that allow you to edit the list? If you can ignore them,…

Curious- on the iOS app, it’s possible to delete items while entering them, swipe left to do so. Another work around is to set the amount of an item to zero, so it won’t be counted. I do this on purpose when I have a recipe I make often but change a bit each time based on what’s on-hand, like a stir fry or soup.…

How are you logging foods without a barcode? I’ve found many of those entries to be inaccurate, too. The USDA has a database with accurate info on those foods, and the entire USDA database is within the MFP database, but it has particular syntax. I’ve made “meals” with the foods that I searched within the USDA database,…

Well, that is kind of the reality of eating out. Even if a restaurant posts caloric info, you’re at the mercy of a particular cook to use a particular amount of ingredients, fat, preparation style, etc. Their nutritional info is just a guesstimate, too. The more you practice weighing your food at home, choosing accurate…

@Megan_smartiepants1970 Ok, I’ll pledge 3500 per day and maybe increase per month if I’m hitting it most days. My step counter catches the elliptical and most of my activity that counts, I’ll list anything else. Thank you!

Outstanding!!

No real advice, other than to offer a (((hug))) from another One user. Mine is still ticking away since 2015. I bought a back-up on EBay a couple years ago, and have realized that I should probably start charging it and letting it run its battery out, just to let the battery run it’s course and what not so the battery…

Weigh-in Sunday Cheesy567 HW 330 PW 232.2 CW 230.2 Hi, I live in the north where there’s still some snow hanging around and signs of spring are slowly appearing. Hiking trails are gradually thawing out. My dog and I are typically pretty muddy these days. I live with a neuromuscular disease called Myasthenia Gravis that…

I’m with Spring on this. If you’re planning on changing your outlook to lose weight and keep it off, rather than a quick loss and yo-yo regain, you have to learn to balance the foods you like, now, ongoing. It’s not cheating, it’s life. It might look different for different people. Maybe it’s a “treat” a day for someone.…

There are other apps that log just a picture of the meal. Or, just using the notes function if your phone for that…

Thanks @Megan_smartiepants1970, glad to have found this group! I’m joining in the challenge for the first time for April. SW 330 CW 232.2 Final GW TBD, I’m 5.9 inches Weigh-in days Sunday Steps averaging about 3,000-5,000 now. I’ll post more in the April thread tomorrow probably.

@turkeyrunfit Yes, you can delete diary entries. It might vary by the device you’re using to access MFP. How are you using MFP? On the iOS app, I swipe to the left to delete an entry from the diary. I’ve never used the android or desktop versions, so I’m not sure how they work.

When I vary a recipe, I don’t delete the ingredients, I just set the amounts to zero. Then the next time I go into it, they are there and no need to search for it. Ingredients not used this round are set to zero amounts. So, for example, a stir fry recipe might have 12 veggies and 3 meats; not all of them are used each…

@silexelix Lean mass is everything left after body fat is removed, so it’s 100%-body fat. For you that’d be 100%-25.1%, or about 75% lean mass. To calculate your individual lean mass (at this point in time) multiply your weight in pounds by 0.75. That would give you your approximate pounds of lean body weight. In the…

Daily, it’s a good routine for me to keep me on-track, and the daily fluctuations have come to be curious at first and now comforting and fun at times. Big milestones come (and go and bounce around) several times when you’re losing slowly and weighing daily. I’ve had times of large and fast regains in the past, those were…

Well… sometimes the labels are wrong, too. I’ve seen it more than once with serving size type ounce to gram conversions are just plain wrong. The weights of food in the packaging can be far off, too, for instance the variance between tortillas or slices of bread or bagels can be pretty big if you’re trying to be precise.…

I’m on long-term steroids too for medical reasons, and have been slowly losing weight, down about 95lbs now. It’s still comes down to a calorie deficit for us, but how we manage the cravings caused by steroids might be different than others. You might ask your endocrinologist if something like a low-carb diet would be safe…

If you don’t keep a gluten free kitchen, it’s hard to bake for someone who needs gluten free food. Gluten is really sticky and gets all over everything. The risk of your friend being inadvertently “glutened” is pretty high, which is probably why she’s bring her own food. So, it’s a sweet gesture to bake something for her,…

Welcome to MFP You can change the names of your meal times, if the traditional breakfast/ lunch/ dinner don’t fit your routine. Just go to settings to do that. Maybe think about foods that you could take with you that are filling and easy to pack or pick up. Stores have salad kits in a bag ready to go. Deli chicken are…

I live rural too, Local dairy farms sell direct to consumer by me. You could call around, or see if your state has a “Farm to consumer” type Facebook group and ask there. See if they’ll pasteurize it for you, if you don’t want it raw.

You can toggle them on/off in settings if they bug you.

For a one-and-done deal, I don’t stress too much. You can always bank some extra calories in the days leading up to and following the event, too. One day in a quarter won’t make or break a lifetime. If it’s a frequent occurrence, then I add in “overage calories” to account for variances in preparation, such as eating out…

I’m really glad you asked your question! Are you medically able to eat the foods you want? I schedule in the foods in my meal plan, so I don’t feel deprived of anything. I make sure to get plenty of protein to stave off cravings, and when cravings are really bad I have a few high-protein snacks I go to for cutting off the…

That’s 0.5 lb/ week, which is healthy and sustainable. Keep in mind that weightloss occurs in the kitchen, not the gym. Exercise is for cardiovascular fitness, strengthening, endurance… but not primarily for weightloss. Increasing your exercise at the same time you’re taking a deficit for the goal of weightloss will muddy…

Does your facility have a sauna? I shower before swimming, then afterwards with Paul Mitchell shampoo 3 (as shampoo and body soap) to clean off the chlorine. Sitting in the sauna a few minutes will help sweat it out too. Rinse off again quickly after the sauna.

@springlering62 maybe your answer lays here?
