I’m usually 95% or more; this week, maybe last week, I’ve missed several meals and even days. Some stressors and more busy-ness than usual,…

  • Some day when you have the energy, you can Google “fruit list” or vegetable list” and get tons of ideas for new things to try, too. Picture lists or printable word lists, pre-made shopping “standards”, etc.
  • I have a bunch of allergies to fruits and veggies and a few other foods. I’ve learned to make lists of foods that I *can* eat, and build my meals from there. Focusing on the positive really helps switch the mindset around food, too. It’s no longer a punishment about not eating things, it’s a celebration about eating what…
  • You can turn off the comments that MFP gives you about your food diary in the settings. I’ve found that they’re rarely helpful, anyways. There not a way to tailor them to your eating plan, so if you have a low carb plan, or are choosing a high-fat food on purpose, like your fish, they are detrimental. People who use MFP…
  • Hi, I’m Cheesy from MN. My April was more or less even, which I’ll take as a win in the big picture. My step count climbed quite a bit which I hope to continue, and on OT consult gave me some arm and wrist exercises to add in to my strengthening routine. For May my baseline goals are to weigh daily, and weigh my food as…
  • What will you do if you don’t reach that goal? Or if you reach that goal and your weight rebounds because if the carbs and alcohol? Or if you choose to have bread, wine, or cheese before then? Have these types of goals worked for you in the past? Have you found that they bring about sustainable, lifelong changes? Have you…

  • No, no need to pay. It’s a glitch they’ve been working on for the last week or so. It was supposed to have been fixed, you might want to contact the help desk/ zen desk to see if they can help you out with it.
  • And @durden or another moderator might know if there’s a way to change your user name a second time, if you want to.
  • Your workout plan with small steps looks great, don’t get stressed if you can’t do it all, but do what you can. Maybe add in “isometrics,” where you lay still but “squeeze” a muscle group while keeping it still for 5-30 seconds (you build up as you get stronger). So, to strengthen the front of your thighs, when laying on…
  • One of my favorite cookbooks for learning to cook on a budget is the “More with Less” cookbook. It’s a Mennonite cookbook with recipes from all over the world, many of them are meatless or “meat stretching” so they’re pretty cheap, and they tend to make large batches that fit into the cook-once-eat-often mentality that…
  • Welcome to our new members @catherinrose4, @ldyhawk, @lallstar Robert, that sounds like a lot of surgery planned, but step-wise will bring you lots of help I bet to make walking and mobility easier in general. Will be keeping you in my thoughts in the upcoming weeks. I’ve been trying to keep up the twice a day walk routine…
  • I enjoy hiking, although my version of it now is sometimes just a walk on a flat path, like a bike path, in a more wooded or secluded area ranging up to easy trails in the woods depending on the day. I used to crochet, play piano and flute as well. I enjoy dog sports; my current dog and I train for an activity called…
  • Look around for alternatives like buy-in co-ops, too. In the Midwest there’s a program called Ruby’s Pantry where you can get $100+ dollars worth of groceries for $20/ share. You might not eat all of it (preferences or fitting in your diet) but you can share with a neighbor, donate, or learn to be creative. There is no…
  • It’s an issue with MFP that they’re working on fixing, affecting a lot of different things. Just wait it out for now, watch for updates in the announcements section of the community.

  • Wait it out, it’s a known error that they’re working on. It’s the big banner at the top of every community page…
  • Don’t uninstall anything right now. The tracker connectivity issues are part of the larger MFP issues overall that have been going on (the recipe builder, website-app connectivity, new food input, log-on issues, etc.). Uninstalling can end up deleting your old data and causing more problems for you. Just wait it out.…

  • OMG y’all are so funny! Posting the same sentiments like the world is ending. The mods are posting daily updates, the tech team is working over the weekend, to fix the free app that you might be choosing to pay “premium” to get ad-free. Get your undies out of a bundle and settle down, lol! You’ll have high blood pressure…

  • Outstanding work!!
  • There’s another, smaller, more accurate database called the USDA database that has all of the main meats, produce, dairy, eggs, etc in it. You can search for chicken breast there, but you’ll still have to pick the correct type as far as raw vs how it’s cooked, skin on vs. skinless, etc. It will just take a minute. The…
  • There isn’t a way to fully automate it. However, you can add these items to a meal, so you can add them at once. Then you’d add your “meal” of the fruit to your snacks each day. You’d still be able to adjust the amounts each day, or if you had to delete one you could.
  • Weigh in Cheesy567 PW 228.4 CW 230.6 +2.2 It’s a different scale, (still traveling and using a travel scale) but I already adjusted it for the difference compared to my home scale. I had a couple of higher calorie days this past week but also several low calorie days, I think it’s mostly water weight fluctuations with the…
  • Linda, congrats on your new record, that’s awesome! @Beautyofdreams and @tahm42, I’ve been working on that method from Corrine this past 6 months or so too, and it’s helped a lot. I’ve had times where binges/ overeating are driven by physiologic hunger, too, so sometimes I have to be sure to schedule meals and make sure…
  • Today I headed out in my road trip. Yesterday was a stressful day and I did some stress eating. Logged it, moving on. Today was stressful too, but I didn’t fall into old patterns of constant car trip junk eating. I kept a box of fruit in the front which helped. Goals: -Hit my step goal -Freggies: 3/5 so far -Lymphatic…

  • It’s not quite what you’re asking for, but for this particular scenario you could add your meatloaf recipe to a “meal” for your sandwich. Recipes can be added as components of meals. “My foods” can be added as components of recipes. If you enter a common homemade base ingredient as a “my food” then you can enter it into a…
  • People who need it could enter foods themselves from the USDA database. Simply having the space available would help. I had to track vitamin K for years and often thought that it’d be nice if MFP would help. Or, MFP could re-enter a subset of USDA database entries specially marked that include micronutrients, too. People…
