I'm stuck too. I went back and looked at a weeks worth of macros and found too much protein and too little fat. This week my goal is to work my program more carefully and see whether that helps.

IMHO this is the best group for LCHF. There is no negativity and no trolls. It always interesting even if the topic does not apply to your particular case. Welcome

have you tried any of the tasty low carb goodies that can be found at AllDayidreamaboutfood.com ? I find that most recipes are pretty good and go a long way to satisfy my cravings. Don't eat the whole pie, or cake or cookies or ice cream. And make sure that the macros in the recipe fit your plan. Sometimes a treat helps

The calorie counts on the data base vary dramatically. Some as low as 15 to others 160+. The big problem seems to be the bones themselves as I used beef femurs. There is a lot of fat, most of which I will remove. The rest is relatively small amounts of carrot, parsnip and leeks. 600 cal for one cup of broth seems too much

I've used Wellbutrin for years. It hasn't really helped in weight loss although it made a marked improvement in my anxiety and stress. It has had no impact on my eating habits and from what I read here it seems to vary significantly by person. Just be aware that it may not help nor hurt you weight loss efforts

This is useful information. I turned off many of the things I had approved and added the Ad Blocker. MFP is much more pleasant to use.

Don't really get hungry. Don't get me wrong, I like food. Or rather, I like interesting food. I generally weigh things to keep me honest but one serving is always enough. Sometimes I forget lunch but realize that I have to keep my macros in line. It feels wrong to eat when you aren't hungry since I always ate so much that…

I've been a member of MFP for ages. There was a fairly long period when I was off the wagon. When I started again I changed my name. New=new beginning, Sue= my real name, 52=the address where I grew up

For the past 20 years I've lived in Columbia, Missouri, a relatively small city in the center of the state. This is the home of the flagship campus of the University of Missouri. The weather has been unsettled, weeks of heat and humidity followed by very mild, perfect weather. Fall and Spring are great here - Summer and…

Not much of a house cleaner either. I just wait until its really dusty and use a leaf blower. It works well

I liked it. It was fairly accurate in what I currently look like and gives me hope for the future. Thanks

Yay for you. You've simplified your life. Proud of you for your determination

I'm a little late but I want to join in. My goals for the month are: Weigh at 10 day intervals. Develop a sustainable fitness regimen

Back in the day I was a medical technologist. It was recommended that Ketones be measured in the first morning urine. It will be more consistent as the first morning urine is more concentrated. Later in the day the ketone concentration will be more variable due to fluid intake. If you are looking for comparitive data, the…

Unbelievable. Why are people so hostile? I've come to the conclusion that if something doesn't work for you (weight watchers, in my case) its time to try something else. Not everyone is the same. I tried CICO, got stuck, exercised more, cut calories and remained stuck. The advice I got was useless (eat back your exercise…

I generally don't talk to people regarding my changed diet beyond saying I've given up wheat. I don't feel like I have enough experience to try to convince people that this is the way to go. That said, I can't believe how different I feel. I've been doing this since Aug 4. My anxiety is gone. My attitude has improved. I…

Welcome to this group. I'm relatively new here too and find it to be amazingly supportive with no trolls. I started LCHF on Aug 8 and have lost 8 lbs. I feel so much better, energetic and upbeat, since cutting the carbs. I hope you have great success. I'm a knitter too. I found a baby pattern that is well received for a…

I toss veggies with olive oil and salt and roast them for 45 min at 400. They are particularly good when mixed ie zucchini, mushrooms and cauliflower. I make a big pan and reheat leftovers for dinner several times during the week. Just use any low GI veg.

i love these pictures. They give me hope

Everyone who is having trouble with their healthcare professional should consider becoming more assertive. Try refusing to be rescheduled. Ask who you are seeing when scheduled for a follow up. Had a bad experience with a nurse? Ask to be scheduled with you dr only. You have a right to refuse substandard care. The last…

Yikes! my sympathies. I had a stone before starting LCHF, it was one of the most unpleasant experiences ever. My dr suggested 100 oz. of water (2.9 L)per day . My new hobby is peeing. But no further problems

I tried the coffee with HWC and butter. I thought that adding butter to coffee was bizarre I was wrong. OMG it is delicious

I thought I was the only one. I've been vLCHF for three weeks. I had a bite of cake and a little bit of bread crust. I felt really crappy this am. I won't do that again

thanks for the help. I'll bring what I need

Alcohol is my food trigger too. if I don't drink i have no problem staying on program

Hi all, I haven't posted before but I do read the posts of others. I am in the process of taking control after months of going to hell with myself. I spent a month in Italy and followed that up with an Alaskan adventure. I've been ruminating on the fact that dieting is impossible if your life is unpredictable. I started a…

Back from my walk. DH and I did 10,758 steps on the Katy trail. Katy is a spur of the MKT trail, a former railroad right of way that was converted into a state park. Its 225 mi (362 KM) from St Louis almost all the way to Kansas City. It's a great place to walk and ride bikes. I'm ready to veg out for the rest of the day.…

It's a good morning here in Missouri. Beautiful sunshiny day perfect for walking. I'm back walking after my day off on Thursday. I'm proud that I completed two full weeks of 10K steps per day with two planned rest days. Last week I did 71.633 steps. HooRay. I'm afraid to get on the scale. I don't want to be disappointed in…

Hello All, I love reading about everyone's experiences. What an amazingly diverse group. A lot of you are in places that sound a whole lot more interesting than Missouri. I hadn't realized it but it must be why Mike and I travel so much. Mike teaches in a study abroad program at the University here. We'll be heading out to…

I have had a fitbit for3 or 4 years. I really like it. I find it very motivating to keep me moving through out the day. My goal is to get to 10.000 steps 6 days a week. I do better some weeks than others but I don't give up. I recommend it to anyone who is not on a regular exercise program. It will help you get started.
