  • You've got it! If you can avoid temptation on a night like that you have it down
  • Has anyone tried making it in a bread machine? I have one that is gathering dust.... ;) would like to use it again! A bread machine is not necessary as there is no yeast in the recipe. It would probably over mix it as well. You'll need to find something else to do with it
  • IMO the bread is best when toasted. I toasted and put PB on it. It's not real bread but the texture is right and the flavor is not bad. Looking forward to a BLT.
  • I made some sausage balls w carb quick. They were a great snack and easy
  • I like the idea of building up to 5 min. I'm in
  • Thank you for these videos. They highlight what we already know but it's helpful to be reminded. Like PaleoinScotland I am an analytical, data person. I also have no faith in my ability to "eyeball" portion size. I have a tendency to err on the side of too much. My personal pet peeves are things like a "medium" apple. How…
  • I find that most stores will get it for you if you ask.
  • I count net carbs. I aim for 15g per day but do not stress if I have up to 20. I occasionally have the low carb tortilla as long as they fit into my macros. I try to eat no wheat products at all mainly because I feel better without them, but sometimes I just need a change.
  • I dip them in melted butter then grated Parmesan mixed w oregano, paprika and salt and pepper. Baked at 350 for 1 hr
  • Ai don't really want to start a disagreement over nuts and seeds but I have had diverticulitis for 5 yrs. When I asked my Dr about eliminating nuts and seeds he said that that info is an old wives tale. There is no evidence that they cause a flair up nor any data to support the restriction. I eat them as a regular part of…
  • There is a website that will help you find your macros. Try http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/

  • I did not mean to be insulting. However, I got lost in the discussion that might have been better as a private message. You can always email someone if you want more information. I agree that the forum is for candid discussion. Perhaps the discussion of ADHD warrants a thread of its own especially if it is a topic that…
  • I've made beef bone broth twice. And discarded it twice. I just couldn't bring myself to drink it as it was so unappealing. Obviously, I did something wrong. I guess I'll try chicken bullion. I like chicken soup better than beef based soup.
  • I do very low carb, most days in the neighborhood of 15 g. I am a carb addict, as such I do not have the ability to eat carbs in moderation. Once I start, I find it almost impossible to control it. It is better not to tease myself with allowing bread, sugar and most fruit into my diet. I started because I was tired of…
  • Add me as a friend. I'm pretty active and log on every day
  • Hmmmm. Bacon, Eggs, Zoodles, Chicken, Pistachios
  • The New York Times has an interview today with David Ludwig, a well-respected nutrition researcher from Harvard. He says that HCLF messes with your hormones and causes you to be more hungry. That why people who lose weight put it back on.
  • Popcorn is a serious problem for me. Best not to start. String cheese and pistachios are my go to snack.
  • Planning helps. When eating out, I don't eat buns, anything fried or potatoes in any shape or form. Seems to work. Oh, be sure to have some snacks available. Nuts are good. String Cheese and those sausage things you see at the checkout counter (Slim Jims, Beef Jerky etc) also work. Good luck
  • Hello, glad you decided to join us. This is the only Way of Eating (WOE) that works for me. This is an active and lively group so take advantage of all the knowledge, help and support available. Make some friends. Log every day. It works if you work it
  • I count my calories as well as carbs. It's probably not necessary but beside being compulsive I need all the help I can get. If you are looking for advice, I recommend that you pay attention to the calories cited when you do your macro calculation.
  • You look great but more than that, you have new confidence
  • Excellent! Nothing motivates as well as success. An amazing accomplishment
  • I'll keep them on my list and hope the New Year motivates them to begin again
  • BTW for those of us who are math challenged. I posted a hack that can be used to get MFP to calculate net carbs. The directions are easy to follow. I've been using it since October with no negative results. Here is the website http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/4448/myfitnesspal-hack/
  • I hate to admit it but I don't exercise regularly. It's one of those things that I know I should do but somehow just don't get it done. Perhaps 2016 will be THE year. I have my macros at 75/20/5. I've lost around 22 lbs but have lost my way over the holidays. I am determined to get back on program, so far, so good. I don't…
  • DH says he's on board but he doesn't really seem to understand the whole WOE. He does his own breakfast and lunch then eats keto with me for dinner. I suppose that's better than nothing.

  • It has been important for me to weigh, measure and log my food. Planning what to eat is key. And ridding the house of temptation helps. I also find that just keeping trigger food out of sight prevents melt downs. I am an evening snacker but I plan for it. Legal snacks are available and can be eaten as long as I stay within…
  • I use net carbs and have been successful with it. Of course, I am a very low carber. I consume less than 20 g most days. What is important is that you determine both the level of carbs that has you losing weight and the level that causes you to stall. This appears to vary by the person. As far as being regular, there are…
