I just reached the 19lb mark and other than my husband, no one has specifically commented on my weight. However, I attended a funeral for a family member last week and found out afterwards that several people were commenting that my makeup, hair, and outfit made me look like I could have been a movie star. I haven't told…

This right here! My mother in law has started with the snarky comments about what I eat. If I eat a regular meal, I must be off my diet. If I eat a salad, I'm starving myself. You should have heard her reaction when she caught me weighing out lettuce (apparently I'm overly obsessed)! But bottom line, I know it's jealousy.…

I feel ya! It's always chips or chocolate for me, and i can eat mind-blowingly huge portions of both. The only thing i found that works for me is eating a bag of frozen veggies first, then giving into the craving. That way I'm already pretty full so i can't go overboard.

I may be the only person in the universe who doesn't like their breadsticks. But put some garlic bread Texas toast in front of me and it'll be gone in about 5 seconds flat..... Sounds like you had a great night and made some good choices. Great job!

1.5 lbs an hour if you only eat the red ones!

I would happily take that over the "good vibrations" now stuck in my head!!!

Yep! I was 50 lbs heavier after having 3 babies. Trying to lose 60 total for now, probably more once I hit that goal. You can do it!!!

Aww! My 4 year old loves going to play in my gym's kids center. Every time we leave she asks me, "are you stronger now?" She has started to do exercises and yoga with me too. It's so mind blowing to realize this journey is also teaching my little girls life lessons and healthy habits too!

This is kind of a strange one, but my husband (who is one of those skinny people that can't seem to ever gain weight) feels so much more substantial when I hug him. I realize it's because there is less of me, but it was an interesting realization!

I recently encountered two of the selfie takers. I couldn't even get to the locker room because they were too busy posing in the mirrors along the hallway leading to the locker room door. Took a few minutes for them to realize there were a few of us trying to get by, then they dashed inside the locker room and immediately…

It would be difficult, but probably possible. I would say go for it for about a month and a half, see if you are making progress, and then take it to be altered if need be. Congrats!

Not me personally, but my younger sister. Her circumstances are a little different, but she is a HUGE inspiration to me! She has been diagnosed with everything under the sun: Bipolar, epilepsy, ocd, mild schizophrenia, mental retardation, and one more that I just can't think of right now. Mentally, she is between 8-10…

Vaping. You still have the smoking sensation but you can breathe so much better and wean yourself off the nicotine if you choose. My e cig has become one of my essential weight loss tools as well. Craving something? You can vape it! Right now I've got funnel cake, mint chocolate cookie, banana bread, and lemon bar juices.…

For me, I am simply refusing to fail. I went about this the wrong way before. I lost 30lbs eating way too few calories and restricting myself too much. Needless to say I gained it back quickly! This time around, something clicked. I set reasonable goals. I educated myself. I figured out how to eat so I stopped binging and…

I get those days once in a while, usually the sweet cravings kick in those days. I eat a bag of frozen veggies and then let myself have whatever I'm craving. By then I'm so full from the veggies I don't have the desire to eat much of the sweets.

Thanks to this thread I signed up for a gym membership and had my first session with a trainer today. I *will* be able to post an after pic here someday!

I'm aiming for 140 just because it seemed like a good number to start with. I haven't ever felt comfortable at any particular weight. I remember being around 130 in high school and feeling bigger than everyone else. But that was probably my own insecurities. I would love to get down to a size 6. Once I get there, I'll…

Congrats on getting started, and enjoy the first month or so when it comes off quick!

The beautiful thing about this site is that it allows you to incorporate the foods you normally eat. Set your goals so you have a reasonable calorie limit. 1200 calories may work for some, but it is hard to sustain. Been there, done that, learned my lesson. Don't worry so much about the big picture, set smaller goals along…

I have a ridiculously huge coffee cup (more like a big travel mug) that holds about half a pot of coffee. I add about a quarter cup of almond milk and 5 splenda packets. I used to make my own flavored coffee creamer in pretty much any flavor imaginable, but now that I'm calorie counting I'm too scared to see just how many…

Back before I was willing to accept that I had issues with my weight, I bought a really cute sports bra with a front clasp and cool design. I refused to believe that the problem with the fit wasn't because I was so fat, I just convinced myself it was an awful design. Turns out, I was just too fat! I put it on today on a…

People who own way too many pets that they cannot take care of and they don't bother training. My neighbors own at least 6 dogs who escape at least once a day and then come after anyone who walks outside. I understand they're tiny little things, but 6 attacking Chihuahuas can do some damage to your ankles! I do get a laugh…

Don't be surprised if I randomly show up at your door begging for a bite! Good lord, that sounds amazing!

This was my problem too. My first time around here ended in failure because I would obsess over the things I couldn't have. I am the only one in my family trying to lose weight, and my husband does the same thing. Every once in a while he'll want to go out to eat or have a few drinks. I look up the menu to see what will…

I saw the fattest dachshund I have ever seen waddling around and had to smile. It made me think of when I first started my weight loss journey and would waddle around the neighborhood to get some exercise in

I just zipped up the bridesmaid dress that was waaaay too small a few weeks ago. Not only does it zip, it's slightly roomy

Lol I like you! I found a 3 mile route through my neighborhood. Whenever I get stressed out our have a bad day, walking/jogging that route with my headphones in and music blaring is absolute therapy!

After my youngest daughter was born, I left my rather physically demanding job to become a stay at home mom. I realized how big I had gotten, feared gaining even more weight, and lost 30 lbs. However, after a while I lost my motivation and quickly gained it all back. Even though I realized I was eating like crap, I turned…

To stand next to my husband and not look huge (he's got that crazy skinny gene where he just doesn't gain weight easily) To go to the beach and feel confident in a swimsuit. No more cover up! This one is petty, but to be able to tell my obese sister in law that all the clothes she likes to send me are too big. She sends me…
