  • You this. It isn't just a step counter. It is an activity tracker. If you are driving you are active. Maybe not as active as if you are walking but you are still moving around. The 100 "steps" it gives you while diving is pretty negligible and is likely a reasonable reflection of your energy expenditure for the thing you…
  • Nope. Not a good plan. It is really easy to eat enough to pretty much nullify your entire week's hard work. You should be eating what you want every day. Just not as much of it as you used to. I do allow myself to go over my goal now and then but I still log everything and try to maintain at least a small deficit.
  • Yummy! Bookmarking to make soon!
  • Ah yes a lot does depend on your location. Here in western PA it rarely gets into the 90's in the summer. Winter's aren't bad but my joints feel the cold more every year. I am going to Oklahoma to visit a friend in July and I expect the heat there to be a new and rather intense experience. Another simple favorite is to…
  • No strategy. I made it a habit. It doesn't matter how I feel I do it anyway.I get home from work and I am tired. My arthritis is flaring up because the weather is changing and my joints are killing me. There is some show on TV I wanted to see. It doesn't matter. At a certain time on certain days I get dressed and go to the…
  • In my observation self worth is not about how you look, how much you weigh or what you have. It is about what you do and who you are. Your character not your reputation. So what do you do that makes you feel good about yourself? How much do you put into developing yourself. Your personal values. The kind of person you are.…
  • Yogurt and fruit and almonds is a favorite for summer. Sometimes as a dessert sometimes as a meal. Usually if I want a really good baked dessert I pick something up at a local bakery. I don't quite understand how summer sucks for an adult out of school not working in education or what it has to do with choices of sweet…
  • Actually.... It is possible to have ice cream delivered. Or anything else you are craving. Depending on where you live anyway. https://www.grubhub.com
  • My current supervisor and I clashed quite a lot when they first came to the group. It got really bad. I was constantly stressed out, upset, and generally angry. Things were really bad a year ago and I was looking for another job, even though I really loved my job and didn't really want to leave. I gave things a lot of…
  • I used to leave puddles all over the dojo. After 7 years of classes I have to work pretty hard to break a sweat. It gets better. I also noticed for the first couple f months that my sweat burned my eyes really bad when it got in them. After a while that stopped as well. Iv'e actually learned to enjoy the feeling of getting…
  • I am not a premium user and I have the check box for it. It is right under my list of meal names. Weird that it does not show for you. Do you have a fitbit linked to MFP?
  • A little chocolate a few times a week is not a thing to feel bad about. Chocolate is good for you, rich in antioxidants and high in magnesium. Just make sure you are enjoying real cocoa and not just chocolate flavored sugar and milk. Remember darker is better.
  • Those flexi leashes are awfully dangerous. I wish people would stop using them. I am so sorry your hubby is in the hospital. I know how hard that is. I dealt with that myself a long time ago. My husband went in the hospital with a gallstone attack. It was three months before the end. You know even while he is out of his…
  • I make soups and stews. It is easy to cook in batches, makes great leftovers, freezes well and tastes great. I don't really follow a recipe. Just start tossing stuff in the pot depending on my mood and make sure to weigh each ingredient before it goes in and write it all down for the recipe builder.
  • I am with the Peace love and little Donuts of Pittsburgh crowd. We have one a block from where I work and the smell of fresh baked donuts as I pass by at 6:30 am is always amazing. And they're little so stopping on for just one is a nice treat and not terrible for calories depending on what toppings you chose. :)
  • Science is showing more and more that plants are much more aware of their surroundings and more actively involved socially than we ever imagined. https://youtube.com/watch?v=U-KD_O2Ccrs That said. I still enjoy eating them as well as all of the other wonderful delicious creatures out there.
  • Average it should only need a charge every 4-5 days depending on how active you are. I get about 4 days out of a charge walking 14-16k steps a day.
  • Weight fluctuations can be frustrating. That's why I use Trendweight. It helps to keep things in perspective when the numbers seem to be going crazy.
  • The devil is a fictional character in a book. Sugar is a macronutrient that our bodies can use for fuel.
  • February 31st. Definitely the best day to weigh. Seriously. It does not really matter. Weight fluctuates unpredictably. If you chose one day of the week that day might show you up or down or static. The day before or the day after you might get a totally different number. It is a good idea to be consistent about what time…
  • Okay. Go ahead. Quit. That'll show..... you. Seriously I get the frustration. I get frustrated sometimes too. It isn't easy. But if you give up you have 100% chance of not succeeding. At least if you are trying you have some chance of success. Stop expecting perfection. Slow progress is still progress. Stalls happen. If…
  • Sounds like a win to me. Remember... you are human. It is okay to enjoy some "junk food" from time to time as long as it fits in your calorie budget. Losing weight does and should not have to mean giving up food you enjoy.
  • I keep track of what I eat using my cell phone camera and log best guess using existing similar entries in MFP.
  • My favorites are Rooibos(red) and Chrysanthemum tea. I also really like white teas. There was one I used to love that was pear white tea. I have not seen it in the store recently though. I actually brew my tea using my little 4 cup coffee maker. Just put the tea leaves in the filter basket and brew like would coffee. The…
  • Sounds like my kinda office!
  • "Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam" The Return of the King. "You don't throw a whole life away just because it's a little banged up" Seabiscuit
  • I went for a hike just today. Because of knee issues it was not as long as I might have prefered but I really have trouble with uneven ground and especially going down hill. But I had a great time exploring the forest of Keystone state park this afternoon. So much to see. Took a lot of wildflower pictures on my journey. :)…
  • baked, mashed, roasted, fries. I like to cut them up and put them into soups or stir fry as well.
  • Last week my ukemi skills came in quite handy. I was working on a horse's front hoof and was straddling his foreleg when he shifted and pushed and took my balance. I ended up taking a backfall on the concrete slab he was standing on. Alarming for his owners but no big deal for me. A chiropractor and massage therapist are a…
