If at first you succeed and don't appreciate it...
Try try again. I was doing really well 4 years ago. Life beat me down again and I gave up. I have finally got life back on a better track so now I have to start over again. I think I learned from it though. So maybe this time will be different. 1) I was stuck on a plateau after having lost around 40 pounds. I still had a…

Horses!
Okay I know we have a whole bunch of members who ride. So maybe we could share some of our horse related life. I've been riding for pretty much all of my life and working with horses professionally for about 26 years. Mainly I do barefoot trimming for a small group of local horse owners. Many of my clients have animals…

Shadowfax, on the road to Rivendell
Phew its been a day. I hope everyone in the northern hemisphere is keeping warm. I was up and out the door at the crack of 9:00AM to shovel the driveway and sidewalk before heading to my chiropractor for a massage and adjustment. Then a long drive to one of the barns work for to trim a couple of sets of hooves. The meras…

Question about exercise logging.
When I log my workouts on the Fitbit dashboard it gives me two options One is just the standard exercise IE: My most common entries are Martial arts and Horse riding-General. Then it gives me the same listing with (My Fitness Pal) added after it. So what is the difference and which is the better/more accurate selection?

Popcorn
I just got some organic popcorn from Trader Joe's and want to have a big bowl (around 5-6 cups popped) later this evening for a snack and I have two questions for the forum. 1) when you measure the serving size in cups do you measure before or after you pop it? I intend to do it by weight but I've noticed that sometimes…

Logging martial arts training with fitbit?
So I just received the gift of a Fitbit flex on Sunday and started using it today. I have a session at the dojo this evening and am wondering about a couple of things. 1) should I wear it to the dojo and if so can I just attach it to my gi/belt? The art I practice often involves some wrist grabbing and think the fitbit on…

Looking to loose 100#
A week and a half ago I went for a first time visit with what I hoped would be my new PCP. After years of having virtually no medical care I finally have insurance and an income that allows me to eat something better than Ramen noodles. I really wanted to find a doctor that could work with me on a couple of issues that…
