Because people believe chemicals are man-made things never found in nature.0 -

I doubt that. I think that is more often just the interpretation of those mocking natural eaters. Usually if someone says they don't want food that is filled with chemicals and you reply with "Do you mean added chemicals?", the reply will usually be "Yes, of course."
ETA: I'm sure some do think all chemicals are man-made but I'd bet on it being a small minority of those that say they like to avoid chemicals in food.0 -

It puts things into better perspective. The majority of people really don't differentiate between manmade and natural because the word chemicals has become synonymous with bad in most people's minds. And as the video points out not all man made chemicals are bad and not all natural ones are good.

I think the most generous interpretation is that the people really, really, don't have enough understanding of the subject to have a consistent idea of what are chemicals, what synthetic chemicals, etc.

Oh boy yes dihydrogen monoxide is horrible stuff. People who inhale it regularly die. In fact 100% of people who drink it also die and it's everywhere and in everything.
And yes a fine example of why people really do need to be educated about this stuff.0 -
Prepared to get annoyed, watched the video, was pleasantly surprised. :flowerforyou:0

I got through about 30 seconds. It might be good for people who actually don't know any of that. The part about how I cannot pronounce that stuff was a little ridiculous. I can pronounce it. Again, for someone who couldn't, it might be enlightening.
Had to stop when I began thinking, "They gave names to the bitty bits of a blueberry? Well, shoot! I'd no idea that them there blueberries has different pieces parts that got them names! Thanks for learnin me that!"0 -

How do you know what the majority of people think? What percentage of people is it and what is the source of the statistic?0 -

If you think anything we "modern humans" eat is anywhere near close to "natural", well, you are just living in a distorted reality...
