Logging martial arts training with fitbit?

So I just received the gift of a Fitbit flex on Sunday and started using it today. I have a session at the dojo this evening and am wondering about a couple of things.

1) should I wear it to the dojo and if so can I just attach it to my gi/belt? The art I practice often involves some wrist grabbing and think the fitbit on my wrist would get in the way of practice.

2)If I don't wear it during the workout will logging the workout on MFP sync okay with the Fitbit tracker?

3) if I do wear it to class do I still log the workout on MFP in my exercise log?

Also while we are at it what about when I ride my horse? Should keep the fitbit on or take it off and log the exercise?
I really like how the two apps link up and adjust my calorie needs based on my day and would like to have them working well together. I would appreciate any tips. :)
